The Boy Next Door

Another sleepless night. Another night of sitting at my desk, my head burried in my books, as I try my best to finish yet another AP assignment. You're probably wondering why i'm here getting frustraded over something as small as homework. You see homework is typically something I can get through in a matter of minutes, but when it comes to AP LIT I tend to try my best to make sure every assignment I turn in is completely flawless. If you think about it, it's completely discussing to be doing this to myself, but when you're trying to get into your dream school, you do whatever it takes to get there.

I softly rub my eyes, the invitation of sleeping being called out. I can't fall asleep now, especially in the middle of my paper. I continue to graze my pen against my paper, my hand aching softly, but I ignore the pain. I know i'll regret it when I develop some type of Carpal Tunnel.

As I write each word agaisnt the paper my eyes tend to become more and more heavy. My eyes softly shutting, but I shake my head softly, trying my absolute best to stay up. Just a couple more minutes, I thought to myself, as I flip the paper around. 1:30 A.M. the clock on my iPhone displayed. Three pages deep, written by hand; front and back. I sighed in comfort before throwing my pen down onto my desk. I run my hands through my light brown hair softly. I look back at my phone, my eyes widening at the time.

3:30 A.M.

I shake my head as I make my way to my king sized bed, pushing my chair out from my desk and turning off the light. As I make my way to my bed, I softly kick the side of my bed. Stubbing my toe, making me fall onto my bed. Hissing in pain, as it shoots up my whole foot. What a way to end my night right?

The pain starts to fade away, as just a small ache is left. I crawl underneath my baby pink sheets, the soft material of the sheets relaxed my body. My brain and body finally unwinning as I close my eyes. Letting sleep take over my restless body...
