Becoming An Idol (COMPLETE)

Recording For the First Time

To say that Sean was nervous would be a huge understatement.  He stood in front of the mic in the recording booth with his lyrics sheet in front of him listening to the men in the production room speak to him and to Suga who was the one that composed the music to BTS's new album, Love Yourself: Her.  He wrote the lyrics to the song, but Suga wrote the music.  Suga smiled at his nervous baby and said, "Seannie, you will do great, just sing it like you did in practice."  Sean nodded and sipped his water, "Hyung, can we go get lunch after?"  Suga nodded, "Want to get lamb skewers with me and Kookie?  I promised him if he gave us a clean recording." Sean nodded, "OK, hyung."  He sipped his water to wet his throat and then waited for the signal when it was given, he started singing his first line.  It didn't take them long to record his share of the album.  Sean presented a clean recording for his first time despite his nervousness and headed out with Suga and Kookie for lunch listening as they talked about the recordings and how both felt that Sean did for his first time.

"I'm proud of little brother, he did a great job for his first time."  Kookie said as he sipped his drink.  He watched as Sean played with his phone and asked him, "Seannie, how did you feel being in there?"  Sean blinked and admitted, "Hyung, it was scary in there.  I was shaking like a leaf."  Suga chuckled and said, "We didn't notice, baby.  You did great."  Hearing Suga's supportive words helped to settle Sean down a bit.  His hyung has been nothing but supportive and kind since he signed with Big Hit and was added to BTS.  He hoped the fans would be as well when he finally meets them face to face.  Jimin walked into the room smiling and asked, "How did it go?"  Sean looked down and said low, "It was terrible, hyung screamed at me eighteen different times because I sucked as a singer and told me to rethink my future at this rate."  Jungkook bit the inside of his cheek to keep from laughing as Suga stared at his boy who clearly was working on getting Jimin back out of revenge for a prank the older idol pulled on their baby just that morning over breakfast.  Jimin raised a brow and said, "Better you accept your short comings now so you can overcome them later.  We've all been there already and are the best now."  Sean sighed sadly and said, "Hyung, you said short comings.  I'm glad to see you've recognized your own SHORT comings.  But I don't think you will overcome them any time soon."  Jungkook started laughing hysterically as he waved his hand over the top of Jimin's head and said, "SHORT comings, I get it, Seannie, good one."

"Yah!"  Jimin yelled as the two maknaes burst into laughter.  Sean hugged Jimin and said, "Hyung, I was playing, I did a great job and was patted on the head for being a good boy."  Jimin slapped his stomach and moved away, "Tall maknaes are too mean to hug this mochi."  Suga laughed and said, "Jimin, I'm taller than you too."  Suga watched as the other idol walked into the recording booth and pulled on his headsets to begin.  Their producer fired up the music as the other three left the studio laughing.  

Later that evening, Sean was sitting on the sofa in their living room watching a movie with Suga, his head leaning against the older man's shoulder when his phone rang.  It was Felix.  Sean answered as he moved away from the others watching the movie.  "Hey Felix, how are you?"

"Oh you know.  I heard that we are going to be filming a survival show soon for the chance to debut.  Wish me luck, won't you?"  Felix told him.  Sean hummed and said, "I know you'll make it, hyung.  You are an even better performer than me."  Felix chuckled and asked, "How did you get into Big Hit much less BTS?"  Sean chuckled low and said, "Mom signed me up for the audition and I guess Bang Pd Nim liked me because he signed me immediately and when I landed here in Korea, I found out I was added to BTS.  I was shocked.  Training, yes, debuting as a member of one of the biggest groups in Kpop, no."  Felix chuckled and said, "You'll do great.  So you and Suga hyung, huh?"  Sean chuckled, "He's an amazing person, Felix.  I love being around him and learning from him."

"Does he know you are bisexual?"  Sean hummed and said, "He doesn't care.  He says that gender doesn't matter if the love is true and good."  Felix chuckled and said, "I like Chan hyung too.  Chan hyung is from Australia too."  Sean chuckled low and asked, "Are you into him?"

"Would you be mad if I said maybe?  I mean I gave you so much shit about being bisexual."  Felix told him.  Sean laughed, "Hyung, we are family, I wouldn't give you too much of a hard time.  I know how it feels to be different."  Sean crossed his legs and settled back in his chair.  "I did my first recording session today.  It felt so amazing."  Felix chuckled, "I can't wait to hear your voice, Sean."  Sean chuckled and asked, "Haven't you heard me sing before at the restaurant?"  Felix chuckled and said, "That's different.  It's more amazing when it's heard on a radio."  Sean chuckled and said, "I want to know when your first episode starts so I can start voting and supporting you."  Felix chuckled and read off the schedules.  Sean grinned and stated, "Ok.  I will watch, support, and vote for my cousin."  Felix laughed and thanked him.  "I have to go to bed now, we have an early schedule tomorrow.  Let me know when your album drops so I can buy it."  Sean hummed and told him, "Good night, hyung. See you soon."
