Slimeology: sometimes, if a slime REALLY doesn't want to die, it will produce a ghost slime in defiance. No one knows how this happens, but ever since ghost slimes were discovered, ranchers have been trying to repeat the same effect with humans.
Rancher risks: ghost slimes are entirely harmless, but can still be killed since they're essentially slimes that cheated death once. Really the only thing that can harm them is light, so keep them in dark places. Predators and TARRs of all kinds can't harm them.
