shirabu wrapped his tan scarf closer to him as the wind picked up a little, an irritated look cowards his face.'he's late.' shirabu huffed.
it was weeks after their match against karasuno, why on earth semi requested such an idea was beyond shirabu. why shirabu accepted, he must have been insane.
deep down, shirabu was nervous as hell. the hard snowflakes decorated the streets as shirabu collected his nerves.
the only reason shirabu accepted such a ridiculous idea was to spend time alone with semi, even if he had to leave the warmth of his summer room. after karasuno, shirabu wanted spend as much time with his senpai as he could, he would soon leave soon for university. shirabu couldn't think of the team in the same way if semi wasn't there. it wasn't waka, it was semi. always. maybe there was some kind of undying affection from shirabu, but he never wanted to admit to such a thing.
a waste of breath, he thought.
shirabu snickers thinking about his first meeting with semi. the two never got along well, everyone thought it would be bad for the team, but now...they truly are inseparable.
"shirabu," a tick mark appeared on shirabu's head as he saw the older man running over to him. "sorry for making you wait." semi smiled big, despite what is seen on the court, semi is a big softie.
"you're late." shirabu said in a nonchalantly, low voice.
semi wore a black sweater, dressed with dark pants, and a similar tan scarf to shirabu's.
"i know, i know. my mom needed help with something back at the store." semi lied through his teeth, but shirabu believed him.
"it's okay," shirabu has a good look around the area they met up at, "what are we doing here, it's cold." shirabu whined.
"isn't it obvious," semi smiled with a thumbs up, "it's a date!"
shirabu stared at semi for a few seconds before hiding his face in his hands. heat clashed harshly with shirabu's cold cheeks.
"a....a date?" shirabu muttered quietly into his hands.
guilt struck semi as he saw how shirabu reacted.
"it's just a joke, don't worry." semi reassured.
"oh," dissatisfaction drips off shirabu's words, "anyway, why are earth do you want to eat ice cream in this kind of weather."
"i love ice cream!" semi smiles more as makes shirabu follow him to the ice cream shop.
"i know, but it's freezing out. i know you're that stupid, semi." shirabu replies with a blank face.
"you're so mean, shirabu, calling me stupid." semi would usually lash out, but he's soften up a bit lately.
shirabu doesn't mind. he get to see him smile more.
"i said you're not that stupid."
"you're still calling me stupid." semi whined as walks a little faster.
shirabu huffed at semi's actions.
'such a child.'
why shirabu had fallen for the upperclassmen, he never know. maybe it was lingering feeling of his hand when they switched out during games, or how semi always swung his arm around him, the heated feeling of his hand on his shoulder after he told him don't mind, maybe it was the untainted rivalry between.
shirabu will never know, but he knows for certain how he feels towards the setter.
"relax, semi-san," shirabu smiled lightly, "it's just a joke."
extra:
"hey, i saw two karasuno players when i was coming here."
"really? which ones?"
"the two settlers on their team. they looked like they were on a date."
"i guess we're not the only ones."
"...."
"shirabu wha"
"oh look at the time, i have to go. thanks for the ice cream, senpai."
"you little-"
