Jasmine

"my heart feels safest around you"

space closing between lips and skin,
grips tighter than your warmth within;
visions dismissed for hearts take reign,
passion and calm for once are the same.

embrace my soul with love's reassurance,
piece me together with a single glance; 
say those words without making a sound,
undress my soul, build me from the ground. 

certainty, safety, serenity, happy;
jasmine, darling, for you, i will gladly
spend the rest of my soul's existence
with yours for all eternity's continuance.

this might just be what they sing about.
this must be what poetry is all about.
