Chapter 29

"You ready?" Aunt Caroline asked. She was wearing  a violet gown and a purple pumps. She applies her mascara and puckers a little then poses on the mirror. Just looking at her makes me laugh. But I don't wanna die early so....

"I don't know." I groaned then loosen my tie a bit. "Nobody said anything about the date being formal."

"But you agreed, right?" She winked.

"Like I have choice." I sighed then ruffled my hair. "How do I look?"

"You look fine." She said as she puts her lipstick on. "Anyway, your date's jaw will hang wide open if she sees you. I mean... isn't that always their reaction?"

"Really? How come I didn't notice that?"

"Because, you're not interested."

"Right." I clicked my tounge and wink at my Aunt. "Can you at least tell me anything about this mysterious date?"

"Then it's not mysterious anymore." She smirked.

"Come on." I chuckled. "Just a little bit."

"Fine." She rose one eyebrow and spray some perfume. "She goes by the name of Rhea. She's 18, like you. She's my student at Stanford and she excels at Math and Calculus. Plus, she's been asked out before but she's not that interested."

"Oh." I nodded. "Is she-"

"Hot? Of course she is."

"No. I was gonna ask if she's interested in a guy like me."

"Of course she is. In fact, she's thrilled to meet you." Aunt Caroline stuffed her make-ups on her purse and faced me. "I told her factual information about you and she said she's very excited."

"You told her my name?" I asked.

"Of course. I told her your name is Michael. A kind and caring son of my friend who's in search for someone to love." She batted her eyelashes and made some kissy noises.

"You've got to be kidding me." I exclaimed as I slapped my forehead.

"I was only joking." She laughed. "But I did told her your name is Michael."

"Okay." I shrugged and looked at the clock. "We better get rolling."

Aunt Caroline giggled and wrapped her arm around mine. "Something tells me you're excited to meet Rhea?"

"I'm not." I said, flatly. "I just... wanna do things right again."

"Hmm..."

Then I escort her into my awesome car... Hahaha... And drove away. So this is what moving on really feels like. I felt terrible.
