SCIENCE The x-gene is also known as the mutant gene. People with the mutation gene are referred to as homo superior. The x-gene can be found on the 23rd chromosome also known as the sexual chromosome. The way the activation of mutant abilities works is an exotic protein is created by the body. This protein then produces chemical signals creating mutations on other genes.
ACTIVATION The x-gene can be activated because of many things such as puberty, stress, traumas. In most cases a mutant's abilities are activated during puberty. But there are cases where mutant abilities are activated at birth or even before birth, these beings are referred to as Homo Killcrop or changelings. Some mutants even go through a second mutation in which they gain more powers or a change in appearance.
OFFSPRINGS When two mutants have a child they will most likely have the same or a more advanced version of their parents powers. In some cases the offspring can have different powers from their parents. In very rare cases two mutant parents can have a child who doesn't carry the mutant gene.
In cases where one parent is a mutant the outcome of their child being a mutant is very high but a child without the x-gene can still be possible but it's extremely rare.
