3 days till the last day of school

i starred out my window patiently waiting to see grayson walk out of his house. he said he was driving me today and i'm excited to finally talk to him. i saw his front door open and he came out. i grabbed my binder and walked down the stairs to exit my house

when i got outside he was already in his car and parked in my driveway. i opened the door and got in

"hi" he said

"can we skip the awkwardness please"

he nodded his head and laughed which made me laugh

"i can't believe high school is over in 3 days. have you started your farewell for journalism?" he asked

"holy shit i totally forgot about that!" i began freaking out, i'm never going to finish it in time

"calm down, you'll get it done"

the drive to the high school only takes 5 minutes so we pulled into the senior parking lot and he found a nice spot

we got out of the car and began walking into the school. i froze right outside of the doors

"you okay?" grayson asked

"when i walked through these doors yesterday your friends called me a slut. i don't wanna do that again" i say

"kelsey listen, we're going to walk through these doors together and i'm going to make sure nobody says a word" he reassured me

i nodded my head and faced the door. grayson grabbed my hand and squeezed it, i opened the doors and we walked in still holding hands

immediately all eyes were on us

all of his asshole friends & even brittany. she gave me the look and then smiled. grayson walked me to my locker and we stopped holding hands

"see i told you nobody would say anything"

"just because they aren't saying anything now doesn't mean they won't say something later. i have to go to mrs.dunn before class i'll see you later" i say and turn around before grayson could get a word out

i arrived in mrs.dunn's room, she smiled

"how's my favorite student doing?"

"could be better" i smiled

"well i've got some exciting news for you! the school board is so impressed with your writing and that you're graduating early & they want you to read your farewell at graduation!" she explained

"oh that's amazing but i don't know. i can't speak in front of all those people, it'll be bad" i tried making excuses, knowing i haven't even started my farewell

"you'll be fine, i believe in you" she grabbed some papers "i have to go to the copy room, is there a reason you came to see me?"

"nope just came to say hi"

"alright then i'll see you fifth period" she says leaving the room

as if i didn't already have a million things to worry about here's another

after school i rode with brittany home, i didn't even wait for grayson because i need to get this farewell done and perfected. i sat down at my desk and looked at the blank page on my laptop. i had no clue what to write or where to even begin. i kept starring at the blank screen for so long it started to get dark outside. sometimes i would write a sentence or two but it would always get deleted. it was official, i had a bad case of writers block

i looked at the time, it was already 7pm

my phone buzzed so i looked down at it

grayson: wanna go for a walk?

kelsey: yes that's exactly what i need right now

grayson: meet me outside

i grabbed a light jacket and made my way to my front yard. grayson was already outside

"ready?" he asked

"let's go"

we walked into the preserve and followed the path around the pond

"i never got to formally apologize for everything. i need you to know i'm so sorry, i wish i could take everything back" he says

"grayson you don't need to apologize. i'm the reason this all happened. if i didn't blackmail you none of this would be happening"

"yeah but if you didn't we wouldn't be friends now" he smiled

"oh so you think we're friends" i smirk

"yeah but i don't wanna be your friend. i want to be more then friends" he said

"what"

"i like you kelsey, a lot"

"i like you to grayson but summer is around the corner and after that i'm going across the country and you said you don't even know what you're doing" i explain

"it won't work"

"but we can make it work, please kelsey"

we stopped. he grabbed my face and kissed me

"alright fine" i smiled

"so will you be my girlfriend?"

"yes"
