Jessie and Howard were looking at a machine at the army base. The day before, Steve had caught the man who was trying to steal the serum. He was trying to get away in an underwater machine. It was almost like a submarine, but a car mixed together, and smaller than a submarine. Colonel Phillips walked in talking with Senator Brandt.

"Colonel Phillips, my committee is demanding answers," the Senator said.

"Great, why don't we start with how a German spy got a ride to my secret installation in your car," Colonel Philips said. He turned to Stark and Evans. "What do we got here?"

"Speaking modestly," Howard began to say, "We're the best mechanical engineers in this country. But we don't know what's inside this thing, or how it works."

"Я никогда не видел ничего подобного," Jessie spoke in her Russian tongue, "We're not even close to this technology. I'm wondering how the windows didn't break from the water pressure."

"Then who is?" the Senator asked. Peggy and Steve walked in.

"Hydra, I'm sure you've been reading our briefings," Colonel Philips replied.

"I'm on a number of committees, Colonel."

"Hydra is a Nazi Deep science division," Peggy said walking over to the Colonel and Senator. The Senator took his hat off as she continued to speak, "It's led by Johann Schmidt. But he has much bigger ambitions."

"Hydra's practically a cult," the Colonel said. "They worship Schmidt. They think he's invincible."

"So what are you going to do about it?" Brandt asked.

"I spoke to the President this morning. As of today, the S.S.R. is being re-tasked."

"Colonel?" Peggy asked.

"We are taking the fight to Hydra. Pack your bags, Agent Carter. You too, Stark. We're flying to London tonight." Howard looked to Jessie as she had a look of disbelief on her face. He remembered that Bucky had been shipped to England. The fact the Colonel didn't say anything to her might have ticked her off.

"Sir," Steve spoke up. "If you're going after Schmidt, I want in. And I want Jessie to come along as well."

"You're an experiment, you're going to Alamogordo."

"The serum worked."

"I asked for an army, and all I got was you. You. You're not enough. As for Ms. Evans, I had promised Sergeant Barnes she would be staying here in New York. I'm sorry, Sergeant, but you cannot come."

"But, Colonel-" Jessie began to protest.

"Not a word, Ms. Evans," Colonel Philips said cutting her off. "I promised Barnes that you would stay here, and I intend to keep that promise. He just wants you safe, and I don't want to be the one to piss him off if you get hurt or captured." Peggy looked to the Colonel with a confused look on her face.

"But, Sir. The 107th was sent to London. With all due respects, I'd like to go to see Bucky and my friends. If I go, Steve has to come with me."

"Another reason why I don't want you to go. Do you really want to see your friend that badly?"

"Yes. He's the only family I have left, Sir, along with Steve."

"Alright, you can come. I can't say the same about Rogers."

"Sir, you promised Bucky I would stay here to be safe, I promised him that I would keep an eye on Steve to make sure HE stays safe. Wherever I go, Steve goes too. I made a promise, and I intend to keep it."
