What if, what if we run away?
What if, what if we left today?
What if we said goodbye to safe and sound?

Two lifelong best friends, Corbyn and Zach, want to finally get out of their small hometown, and make a run for the big city, where they feel they'll finally belong. But the thing is, they can't. They aren't allowed to leave home, they're needed there. But, they have an old blue 1968 Ford mustang that they've been sharing since they were 16, some money they've been saving for this special day, and a plan to finally leave that place.

And what if, what if we're hard to find?
What if, what if we lost our minds?
What if we let them fall behind and they're never found?

They plan on putting their plans into action on the next Friday night, when it'd be the easiest to sneak away.
For Zach, he just left a note on the kitchen counter, addressed to his sleeping parents, little Brother, and little sister, stating why he was leaving, and who he was with. He doesn't state where he's going, because to be completely honest, the pair don't have a precise destination, they just have an idea of the general location they're headed for. Now for Corbyn, sneaking off was a tad bit easier. His younger sister Ashley, and her Friend were having a sleepover in the living room and watching movies. Corbyn simply told Ashley that he was going for one of his Friday, late night McDonald's runs with Zach.
Prior to that moment, Corbyn slid his note into his parents bedroom, before slipping one into his Brother, then his sister's room also.
Then he was off, he grabbed his bags that he previously tossed out his window so he wouldn't look suspicious, chucked them into the back seats, then sped off to Zach's house a few minutes down the road.
He met Zach a few houses away from his own, seeing as he didn't want to wake up his sleeping family, due to the car being old and loud.

And when the lights start flashing like a photobooth
And the stars exploding, we'll be fireproof

The next morning, the whole town was in complete chaos. The newspapers, the news channels, and town news boards were filled with pictures of Corbyn and Zach, and photocopies of their notes they left. the only reason they were kept updated on life back in their hometown was through their 7 person friend group consisting of; Gabbie, Christina, Jack, Jonah, Daniel, Tate, and Kay. The only one's that knew where the pair were headed, and had full contact with them too. It's like they were famous back "home". Also Jonah, the eldest of their group, said that the only reason there isn't a huge search party out for them is because they're both 18, and because they still have contact with people they didn't bother to name, one of the things they stated in their notes.

My youth, my youth is yours
Trippin' on skies, sippin' waterfalls

The pair stopped at a rare hiking place they were always taken to as kids, about 4 hours away from their now old town. They both hiked for about 45 minutes before stopping at a narrow but tall waterfall. As kids they would always call this waterfall "the Fall Of Magic" and take a drink from the small pond at the bottom of the fall. After they re-lived some of their childhood memories, they were back to driving, stopping at a small but fancy diner along the way.

My youth, my youth is yours
Runaway now and forevermore

"Corbyn? Do you think we're ever gonna end up having to go back? Like what if we end up having to turn around, because someone told everyone back home where we're going, and then we can't go there anymore? And we're forced to go back?" Zach broke the silence at the small Diner table to finally ask these burning questions.
"Zay, just don't think like that. We're finally free. No parents, no Siblings, no teachers, nothing's holding us back anymore! just be happy that we're finally leaving that place!" is what Corbyn replied with.

My youth is yours
What if, what if we start to drive?
What if, what if we close our eyes?

It's been a full day of driving, maybe even more. They're both tired, and need a bed to sleep on, not just the passenger seat of their car. They've finally made it into another small town, a bigger one than their own though, to say the least. They've decided to bunk at a hotel for the night, and freshen up, maybe even explore a bit, then continue onward, driving the long road to happiness.

What if we're speeding through red lights into paradise?
'Cause we've no time for getting old
Mortal body, timeless souls
Cross your fingers, here we go

that's what they did the next day, they drove around that town, sped through a few red lights, and felt timeless, like they could be in that moment forever.
Next thing you know, they were doing their special handshake they've had since they were 7, and then crossed their fingers at the end, and wished themselves luck for the long journey ahead of them.
