"Saf, I swear it's not what you think.." He runs his hands through his hair out of nervousness.
"He's my father Liam. I have never loved anyone more. You can't expect me to not care! Try and imagine what I went through. I came home to see him with his face beaten black and blue- and then finding out that the reason behind it was you. My best friend, of all people?" as her eyes start to well up with tears threatening to spill, they shift towards the ground.
"You don't understand. He deserved it. I saw him w-"
"Get out."
"What? Safiya, at least let me explain myself, he's a lying filth-"
The slap was as loud as a clap and struck his face. Safiya pulled her stinging hand back, surprised at her own action but she showed no remorse.
"Not another word. Leave, and don't you dare try to come back into my life. I want nothing to do with you anymore Liam."The only sound which followed was the front door slamming shut. Her head falls into her hands and her tears onto the floor.
