"I'm sorry you feel that way. But I think you should let it go. That's what I honestly think."

Upon hearing these words from someone I once loved was something indescribable.

How could he say that? Did he not remember everything we had? Did he care that he broke my heart into a million tiny microscopic pieces? What went wrong?

It was a cold day at Northbay Highschool. The middle of my freshman year. I was eating lunch with a friend I had made in class. There was a group of us by the benches in the ampitheatre. I peered over and watched him. Brandon Carter. The boy I had had a crush on since first grade. he didn't like me back. But I still thought he was amazing. I then heard talking or arguing of some sort and turned to witness what was going on. I felt a grin form upon my lips as I witnessed two boys wrestle each other (not seriously of course.). One of the boys-Cameron O'Reilly was his name-was pinned down on the bench. Once that scene was over, Cameron stood up only to discover that he had crushed a lunch box that belonged to someone in our group. The three of us started laughing at the flattened take-out container. Cameron took out a water bottle and pretended to pour water onto the mess.

"I dare you!" I said to the boy. I didn't really know him. I knew of him. He was popular with the girls. And I could see why. He was quite the looker.

He grinned at me and took on my dare. I watched the water spill ontop of the fried rice as it dripped down the crack of the bench onto someone's backpack. Since I knew the owner of that backpack I stepped forward to move it aside, so it wouldn't get ruined.

"You shouldn't have moved it," the boy said,"you should've just let the water drip onto it."

"But that would be mean!" I exclaimed, amused by this boy's scheming mind.

"It's not mean. It's *accidental* "

Little did I know this simple moment. Meeting this boy. Would change me.

Freshman year was soon over. And so were my feelings for Brandon. What was I thinking? Clearly not logically.

I had begun to talk to Cameron a bit more and I had to admit this boy was an interesting individual.

He had a deep perspective on life.

His sarcastic tone and attitude made him unique.

We had shared conversations over the phone, via email, etc.

I had to admit I liked talking to him. But I was cautious.

As I had mentioned before, he was popular among the girls and had a "player" status to his reputation. Or so I've heard.

It was my fifteenth birthday. I hadn't really planned on doing anything special since it was the middle of August and everyone was off on vacation. I sat at my desk gazing at the computer screen, drowning in the heat of summer. In the distance I heard my cell phone go off.

I groaned not wanting to move anythign but my fingers upon the keyboard.

After the third ring I reluctantly got up and retrieved my phone. My eyes widened as I read the Caller ID.

I flipped open the phone and held it to my ear.

"Hello?"

"Hey June, it's Cameron," the familiar voice said.

"Oh, hey," I said kinda surprised,"What's up?"

"Well it's your birthday right? So I wanted to wish you a happy birthday!" he said cheerfully.

"Thanks," I replied sincerely,"I thought you were at camp."

"Nah, I got back two days ago," he said, "So you got any plans?"
