Once Unikitty and Hawkodile got into the latter's treehouse, they finally stopped. As they were both settling down from having rushed all the way, Unikitty quickly took notice to how while Hawkodile was catching his breath, his already large and muscular chest just kept contracting. For some strange reason, it was quite hypnotic to the young kitty princess and quickly had her mesmerized. However, Hawkodile quickly snapped his bubbly royal feline liege out of it.

Hawkodile: So Princess, you ready to get started?

Unikitty: Uh, yeah. So where do we start?

Hawkodile: Well, maybe we could try having you write your feelings down on paper.

He walked over to his drawers and bent down to his second-to-bottom drawer. He opened it up with some slight reluctance, and inside was a medium-sized notebook. It kinda looked like a college-ruled composition notebook, but it was all black except for a picture of a romantic red rose (complete with stem) on the front cover and a medium-sized blood red heart on the back. It was also filled with red lined paper pages. There were also two capped inkwells on top of it: one black and one white. Hawkodile took all three of these things out, closed the drawer, and laid them down in front of Unikitty.

Unikitty: Wow! What a pretty notebook! Hey, where's the pen?

Hawkodile: Who said anything about needing a pen to do this?

Hawkodile reached behind his back, plucked out of his wing feathers (only flinching slightly), and gave it to Unikitty.

  Unikitty: Cool!

Hawkodile: Yeah. By the way, Princess, you might wanna, uh, (starting to blush) start from some pages near the back of the book.

  Unikitty: (singsongy) Okaaay!~

She took the quill and opened the notebook to a pair of blank pages that weren't too far from the end of the notebook.

Unikitty: Why do you have two ink colors?

Hawkodile: Well, it's kind of to color-code how one currently feels about their relationship with their crush. If you're feeling optimistic and confident about your chances with them, you use the white ink, but if you feel like it's hopeless and that they totally hate your guts, go for the black ink.

Unikitty: Well, in that case, I'm goin' positive all the way!

The adorable pink kitty removed the cap from the white inkwell and dipped in her quill. Then she started thinking about what to write as the ink was slowly (or at least semi-slowly) dripping from the quill. Hawkodile also turned away to give Unikitty a little privacy. After almost a minute of thinking, Unikitty finally started writing:

Hi, Journal. So I'm writing in you about my feelings, huh? Well, to be totally honest, the person who makes me feel this way, I've actually known him for quite a long time. We've had a lot of fun together, and he's always been there for me when I needed him. I'm not sure what's making me feel this way around him. Maybe it's all the time that we've spent together and the fun we've had. Might be all those times he's protected me and saved the kingdom from being torn to pieces by a monster attack. Of course, it could also be the way that he just looks so cute whenever he gets all blushy-faced! Better yet, maybe it's a combination of those things!

Meanwhile, Ellie was coming up to the castle, and she quickly noticed that Hawkodile wasn't out on his usual training grounds. This initially confused the little elephant, but then she thought, Perhaps Sir Hawkodile is up in his treehouse. She walked up to the treehouse and tried to climb up to it, but all the sharp little stairs were much too small for Ellie's large elephant feet, and Ellie wound up falling from one of the tiny steps (which also cut her foot) and (splash!) right into the moat. Since Ellie can't swim, this definitely spelled trouble...
