*SIMONS P.O.V*
"can we get a doctor over here or something please, my girlfriend she's pregnant and she fainted" I yelled out to a doctor
after hours, had passed Adele had still not come back into consciousness by this time Daniel and Laura had given birth to their precious little girl Adelaide I think the circumstances on why they picked this name is cool – Adele because Adele is Laura's best friend and rock, la for the beginning of Laura's name and de for the letters in Daniels name. Adelaide looks exactly like her mum. I see Laura and Daniel enjoying their new family and yet a piece of mine is missing.
"Mr Konecki" a nurse yelled out
"yeah that's me" I said with a sigh of relief
"Adele is awake now we just have to do an ultrasound and make sure everything is okay but you can be in there for that – follow me" the nurse said
I followed the nurse down the long corridor that led to the private room for Adele now with the releasing of her newest song she was getting more and more celebrity status. I walk in and see that Adele has lost whatever colouring she had on her pale skin, she looks stressed out, like something is wrong.
But what is wrong?
"Okay miss Adkins, we are just going to do an ultrasound and make sure everything is okay, how are you feeling?" her doctor said
"I'm okay just tired I guess" she replied
I went over to the other side of the bed where Adele was laying and grabbed her hand. She looked really sad, she knew something was wrong.
But what was it?
The doctor was looking at the screen with a worried expression on his face and Adele looked down under her sheets and started to cry.
"I'm not supposed to be bleeding, am I?" she asked the doctor
"I'm so sorry Adele, but your baby. Its gone" the doctor said very sadly
its gone.
I'm sorry, it's gone
That's all we get.
The only explanation on why we won't ever get to find out our baby's gender, to see if it has ten little fingers and ten little toes. To be there when it says its first words, to be there when they fall over after taking their first steps, won't see it grow up and have a family of its own.
There is no expression on Adele's face she is just completely blank, she is taking this a lot better than I am that's for sure I'm on the verge of tears and then she manages to speak a few words
"where is Laura, did everything go okay?" she said
"yeah baby they had a baby girl" I said
"what did they name her?" she asked
"Adelaide" I replied kissing her forehead
with that she cried, her best friend her rock just had a baby, something she wanted and named it one third after her.
"baby can you take me home please?" she asked me
"of course let's get you ready to go" I reply
we left the hospital and I carried Adele into the car I let her know that Laura and Daniel didn't know what was going on because I wanted them to know when Adele was ready to tell them.
"my mum didn't even know yet" she started crying
"baby it's okay, we are okay, I'm here for you through everything, this is just a little bump in the road that we can recover from, I want a family with you Adele, you are the person I want to grow old with, we can actually start trying for a baby now and get all our things in order ready for a baby" I said squeezing her thigh reassuringly
she just looked out the window she wanted nothing to do with anyone right now and I understand why. I watched her as she looked out the window she had her writing face on, I knew a song was going to come out of this and that it would help her cope with this better than I could.
We pulled up into our drive way and I went around to pick Adele up out of our car.
"I can walk baby, thanks anyway" she said pecked my lips.
She walked off into the house and into the studio, I didn't want to bother her and make her sadder so I just waited a bit, cooked some food and when it was ready went to the door of the studio and what listening to what she was recording.
It was so sweet I almost cried.
*SINGING*
you're just a small bump unborn
in four months, your brought to life
you might be left with my hair, but you will have your father's eyes
I'll hold your body in my hand, being as gentle as I can
But for now, your scan of my unmade plans
A small bump
In four months, your brought to life
And ill whisper quietly, and give you nothing but truth
If you're not inside me, I'll put my future in you
You are my one and only
And you can wrap your fingers round my thumb, and hold me tight
You are my one and only
And you can wrap your fingers round my thumb and hold me tight
And you will be alright
Ooooohhhhh, you're just a small bump I know
You will grow into your skin
With a smile like mine and a dimple beneath your chin
Fingernails the size of a half grain of rice
And eyelids closed to be soon open wide
A small bump, in four months you'll open your eyes
And I'll hold you tightly, and tell you nothing but truth
If you're not inside me, I'll put my future in you
Cause you are my one and only
And you can wrap you fingers round my thumb and hold me tight
And you will be alright
And you can lie with me, with your tiny feet, when your half asleep, I'll leave you be
Right in front of me for a couple weeks so I can keep you safe
Cause you are my one and only
You can wrap your fingers round my thumb, and hold me tight
you are my one and only
You can wrap your fingers round my thumb, and hold me tight
And you will be alright
Cause you were just a small bump, unborn for four months then torn from life
Maybe you were needed up there, but where still unaware as why
