Hannah
"Hey...Hannah, wake up." I shifted on the bed, opening a single eye only to find Evie leaning over me with her eyes wide and a huge smile on her face. "Come on, wake up."
She reminded me of the little girl she once was, always waking me up so we could go play before our parents woke up. Her hair was in a bun and she still had her pijamas on, and for fuck's sake, it was Saturday, so I couldn't comprehend why the hell she was up. Lily slept in usually, and Noah didn't wake up until later. I groaned, covering my face with my arm to try to shield the light from my eyes, but it didn't work. Evie was persistent.
"What is it?" I whispered, not wanting to wake up the girls. They'd slept for a few hours straight, but that didn't mean I wasn't tired.
"Come downstairs, it's important."
"Evie, seriously? I want to fucking sleep and you're-"
"Just come down," she grinned. "Trust me, you want to see this."
I narrowed my eyes at her. "Fine. Give me my robe."
Her whole face lit up and she bit her lip to suppress a squeal. I couldn't understand what the hell had her so ecstatic, but I hoped whatever it was was worth my lack of sleep. I wrapped the robe around my body and walked with my arm interlocked with Evie's downstairs. To my surprise, I heard movement, Lily's little footsteps and her voice followed by Nathan's and Noah's babbling. I shot Evie a questioning glance and got no answers.
"Good morning," Nathan said with a smirk. An evil, malevolent smirk.
They knew something I didn't , and I didn't like it.
"What's going on?"
Nathan grinned, shrugging as he walked toward the kitchen. Lily rushed next to him, her expression full of joy and happiness. It was until I entered the kitchen and saw the large bouquet of roses in the middle of the island that I realized just what was the reason for them all being up so early.
"Holy...wow..."
The bouquet was colorful - roses in red, white, pink and a soft peach color decorated it, each of them stunning and complimenting the other. Beside the large bouquet, two smaller ones rested, the light pink of them conveying an innocence that mirrored that of a child. A teddy bear sat next to each of the smaller bouquets, and though I thought the surprise was over, Evie suddenly appeared next to the island holding up a bear her size. Maybe even bigger.
My eyes widened, and I walked toward the roses, taking the envelope in my hands. I opened it, biting my lip to suppress the smile that wanted to form on them.
