What We Had. Once.

Yes.

I remember you.

Once, you were light,

And love,

And laughter.

Once, you were a safe harbour from storm

A warm place to lie my head

When all was not right.

Your strength was of many,

In heart

And in hand.

Comfort,

When all was lost

When day seems bleaker than night.

And night, darker than the devils heart.

Once, you were my life, and more.

You were so much to me

You were.

Once.

Now, you are a black mark on my heart.

You are a disease.

Hate.

Painful memories.

You are not forgiven.

But yes, I still love you.

After all you have done,

I still remember you.

That blackness

Can never erase the light

We had.

Once.
