"min yoongi?"

when they say his name he starts up

with hellfire still burning behind his
eyes from

the last nightmare

and his hands shaking like he is someone else, someone older.

someone who is

maybe

really insane.

he knows it is all a ploy, and he knows that his father thought

it would be best for him to be

here

instead of prison or a juvenile detention center or

a graveyard,

because maybe he would have gotten more than a life-sentence

maybe it would have really been a

life sentence.

the idea is that he killed someone

and if it was not done in cold-blood because of some dark hatred of humanity he must just

be insane. of course, the panic attack he had in court helped

and of course with

 being here so long

(three years)

maybe he really is acting insane by now but he couldn't actually say so he just sleeps

and eats and looks blearily at the misty rain

blowing across his windows, just like all the misty things blowing through

his head. the rain tapping on the roof

even now

as he comes awake from sticky sleep with someone calling his name like he still exists as a person.

"min yoongi?"

"yes?" (and his throat is sand from not talking)

and the woman standing in the door says,

"you have a visitor."

he thinks he knows maybe maybe maybe but it couldn't possibly be her.

but who else

would

it be?

"her name is yeon-hee."

he stares, blankly.

"you killed her brother?"

saying that like it's just some black and white fact, he thinks. you careless bitch.

"fine," he says. "can i have a moment to get ready?"

there is nothing to get ready for, but she nods anyway.

in the white silence falling around him, he remembers her dark eyes and her wet little mouth

twisting with hatred. and the way she cried in court.

it has been a long time since he's seen her.

he pulls out his phone and

looks at the

last message he sent her.

i'll never tell i promise
