I was sitting inside an abandoned business corporation building. I didn't really do much other than try to get some sleep and stare as people walked by me. A couple of months had passed and I made sure to spend the money my aunt had given me on necessities. Such as food and some ways to clean my clothes. I did go to the laundromat a few times, but they raised their rates and I decided to clean them myself. I had to learn all of that and I even had to defend myself against someone who was trying to kidnap me. I took out a knife my aunt had given me and stabbed him. I ran off and changed from an old abandoned house by the outskirts of the city to where I am now, which is in the heart of the city. I looked at how much money I had left. It was enough to maybe get me through another month. But I knew time was running out since the seasons started to change. I didn't have much with me, but I knew I had to go somewhere. I sighed and grabbed some money, my knife, and bag. I walked out of the building and headed down towards the same restaurant I ate for the past week. I would eat somewhere for a week then leave and find another place. I ordered some food and headed back towards where I was staying when I accidentally took the wrong turn. I cursed at myself and tried to back track and just ended up getting more lost.

I sat down for a second and tried to think about what I needed to do. But I was interrupted with a man walking towards me. I got up and grabbed my knife from my pocket. It was a switch blade and I flipped the blade and pointed it at the man. As he got closer, he seemed to be having a conversation with himself. I grew a bit confused, but stood my ground. He noticed where he was and looked down at me. He saw how in much of a panic I was in since I was lost and all I wanted to do was eat.

"You lost, kid?" he asked.

"What does it matter to you?" I snarled.

"Suit yourself." He turned around and took a few steps and then turned around and faced me. "You're the girl who lost her parents."

"I am. What about it?"

"I know who that man was. The news released who he was a couple of days ago."

"Who was he?"

"A man named Cletus Kasady. Otherwise known as Carnage."

"Carnage? Does that explain why he was a weird looking creature?"

"It does. That thing is more like a parasite."

A black thing appeared on the man's shoulder and it slapped him in the face. It grew a face and it roared at the man. "WHO THE HELL ARE YOU CALLING A PARASITE?!"

"Sorry, bud. I didn't direct it towards you."

"Oh, so you were directing it towards all the symbiotes?"

"No. We'll talk about this later."

"What is that?" I asked.

The black thing looked at me and slowly crawled its way back into the man's shoulder. He grabbed it before he could disappear and pulled it off of him. He held it in his hands and the face reappeared.

"This is a symbiote. This explains how Carnage can perform feats of inhuman abilities. Such as killing your parents the way he did. But this is my symbiote. I use him to get back at Spider-Man. Venom had a hatred towards him and I've had one as well. Since we share the mutual hatred towards Spider-Man, we bonded pretty well."

"Well, I don't hate Spider-Man, I just have a strong dislike to him."

"That means you hate him," Venom said.

"I do not," I said to Venom.

"I like this girl. Can we keep her, Eddie? Please?!"

"I don't think you'd want to trust me after losing your parents and just having met me right now," Eddie said.

"You're right, I don't want to. But I need a place to stay."

Eddie sighed as Venom gave him a sincere look. "You can stay with us. Just one night, got it kid?"

"Yes."

"Grab your things. We're going on a walk."

"More like whipping through the air," Venom said.

"What?"

"You've seen how Spider-Man can whip through the air with his string?"

"Yes."

"We can kind of do the same."

"Oh."

"Grab on," Venom said.

I grabbed my food before grabbing onto Venom and the black mass grew and engulfed Eddie, just like how the red creature engulfed the man. I grew a bit scared as Venom's arm turned into a long tentacle and attached to a roof. He pulled himself up and landed a top of the roof. He did the same thing for a few miles down and then he landed on an apartment roof and Venom released his hold on Eddie. He set me down and we walked towards a door a top the roof. We walked down a set of stairs and into an apartment complex. Eddie grabbed his key and unlocked his apartment when we reached it.

"Kitchen is to your right, bathroom to your left and down the hall and will be the first door to your right, and laundry room is next to the kitchen. You're going to be sleeping on the couch. Blankets are in the closet by the bathroom," Eddie said.

"Thank you," I said and walked towards the kitchen.

"Hey, I didn't catch your name," Eddie said.

"I'm Alex Limins."

"Nice to meet you, Alex. Name's Eddie."

"Nice to meet you, Eddie."

"Tomorrow I'll help you find where you were before."

"Thank you."

Eddie walked away and I heated up my dinner and ate it. I was sitting on the couch, not knowing what to do. I grabbed the TV remote and turned on the TV. I flipped through some stations and tried to find something I wanted to watch. I just settled with the news.

"Spider-Man was seen saving a young child from the villain Carnage after Carnage was on a mission to kill the young child's parents."

I turned off the news and pulled out my phone. Seems like he wasn't too busy to take care of this child and not come and save me when Carnage was attacking my parents.
