We didn't realize we were making memories. We just knew we were having fun.❞

Kim Taehyung

Kim Taehyung felt like shit. An absolute piece of worthless shit.

Sitting on the window ledge, as the first rays of the morning kissed his face, he wondered whether his efforts will bear any fruits or not.

And as the sun rose over the oblivion, Taehyung took one last glance at the pile of scrapbooks at his desk, before going out to face the others.

-------------------

Taehyung and the others reached the studio at around 9 in the morning, and stayed up till around 3 in the afternoon.

In all honesty, they had no reason to be here. But staying at their apartment was slowly driving all of them insane.

One look at each others' faces, and all of them were reduced to nothing but mere puddles of tears.

Earlier, their manager had informed them that the fans will be informed about their disbandment tomorrow.

Hoseok's nervous face at his statement confirmed the fact that he was next in line to Taehyung.

Speaking of Taehyung, he was glancing sneakily at the clock every 2 minutes.

As soon as the clock struck 4, he knew it was time to put his plan into action.
He had all the details carefully mapped.

"Guys," he called out. "I'll catch up with you later. I have some work to do."

They were going out to eat that night.

At his words, they nodded and proceeded to head out of the building.

As soon as they reached their car, a staff member hurriedly came out of the building.

"Guys, here," he panted, handing them a reservation conformation.

They stared at the slip in surprise. It was at the restaurant, BXBQ Joint, where they used to eat during their trainee days.

And the reservation was in the name of Taehyung.

-------------------

They were ushered of to their table as soon as they reached the restaurant.

And they were surprised to find Taehyung sitting there, a stack of scrapbooks in front of him.

"What took you guys so long?" he asked calmly.

"Namjoon accidentally touched the car's wheel. But you said you had work to do," Jin spoke in an accusing tone.

"The work was to bring this here," he responded, patting the stack of scrapbooks. "Have a seat."

They sat down, and learned that Taehyung had already placed the order. Their favourite meal. Barbeque Chicken

"Now," he said, handing them each a scrapbook. It had their names doodled on it. "Time for business."

He took in a deep breath.

I can do this. I can do this. I can do this.

"I am not gonna speak about how much I love you guys. How much I love our memories. How much I love us. How much I am going to miss you guys. How much I want to sit in a corner and cry."

The others had tears in their eyes by now.

"Instead, I want to wish you guys best of luck for your further endeavors. Inside the scrapbooks are some of our worst memories and moments."

And indeed, Jin's scrapbook had pictures of him from the day his pants fell on the stage. Jimin's had of the day he was crying for his voice crack. Yoongi's and Hoseok's when they had fought. Jungkook's and Namjoon's when they had injured themselves.

And many more personal bad memories in each of their scrapbooks.

Noticing their frowns, Tae continued speaking.
"We all will walk on different paths of life from next week. Someday we will look back on these memories, and maybe cringe and cry. But I want you guys to then just flip over to the last page of this scrapbook."

They did so mutely. On it, were pictures of them from their 1st win, their first Billboard Award, and so on.

Taehyung had tears in his eyes, as he now spoke.

I can do this. I can do this. I can do this.

"I want you guys to remember, that despite all those hurdles and difficulties, we made it. We did it. We became better version of ourselves."

He held up his own scrapbook, filled with his own dreadful memories.
"And I want you guys to remember us. Bangtan Sonyeondan. The group that helped me become the better version of myself. The group that stood by me throughout this beautiful, but difficult journey. The group filled with 7 talented members. Each with a talent of his own. Each special in their own way. Each a shining star. Each, whom I appreciate."

He gave them a sad smile.
"I am truly sorry for leaving you guys so soon. But honestly, I want to take up modelling as a career. And perhaps, when I become a top model, it will probably be because of you guys. No, scratch that. I will become one for you people."

He paused.
"When next week you guys start your lives, I hope this scrapbook reminds you it is okay to fail. Okay to make mistakes. Okay to be human. Society will judge you, but you have BTS. Your brothers. Who will love you forever unconditionally. I love you guys forever."

He looked at them with tearful eyes.
"This is my last gift for y'all."

And they nodded, as they kept the scrapbooks next to their hearts, all through the whole meal.

Taehyung's last gift to them. Reminding them the true meaning of 'bulletproof boy scouts'.
