Chapter 8: Jack's gonna kill us!

June put her head high as she walked into the alley the boys disappeared to. She kinda got creeped out by it seeing it was all dark and creepy. She tried to ignore it as she walked further down it.

She soon heard laughing though. Trying not to be caught she ran behind some old boxes.  Before peeking and seeing the blonde boy and his ginger friend.

They were also laughing with two other boys, one small with freckles and brown hair, the other one taller  with lighter brown hair.

"Guys why won't you believe me!? I kissed her!" The short brunette boy argued to the older ones. "Romeo I would believe you......but no way on earth YOU kissed Zoe Jordan!"

The other brunette boy pointed and laughed with the others "Shut up Jojo! You haven't even kissed a girl!"

They have funny names

"At least I don't flirt with ever girl" Jojo rolled his eyes. Making a face to the boy called Romeo.

Roemo pointed "Flirting is wayyyyy better, you don't lie when selling and you get chicks"

Race laughed, fixing his shirt.  "As Jack says 'It's improving the truth" They laughed more as June thought.

Wait...they lie to sell? Isn't that illegal? Do they do this all the time?

"Hey Race, who was the girl you were selling to? The short one with a big red cardigan" The blonde boy looked up after lighting his cigar "Just some girl Albert, probably getting stuff for her family"

"Was she hot?"

"Romeo she was like 11" Albert and Jojo laughed their heads off, as Race smirked at an embarrassed Romeo.

"I'm 13 actually!" June wisbeard but maybe to loudly for her own liking.

"Did you hear that?"

June pressed against the boxes trying not to get caught. She sucked in her breath, even though it would certainly not work.

"You're hearing stuff, Jojo" Race laughed but then pointed to them "But...that kid looked really familiar"

Wait maybe they know Spot!

June soon didn't hear anything for a minute or two,  she peeked, seeing if they were gone. And they weren't. She walked forward and put her hands on her hips "I guess they went to their Lodging House" She laughed, though annoyed she didn't catch them.

"Or standing behind you"

June gasped and turned to quickly she nearly fell, all four of the boys were arms crossed staring at her.

"Did you follow me?" Race said with a stern vocie, making June scared.

"Calm it Race" Albert turned to his friend, June probably guessed Race got angry quite quickly "But yeah did you follow him?"

"Yeah but-"

"Do you think he's handsome?" The brunette boy, Romeo, smiled.

"No!"

"Wait you think I'm not good looking?"

"No!" She blushed realising they were messing with her, she saw the Blonde hair boys face smirk at this.

She then thought about Spot, he wouldn't allow this. Getting messed around with other kids. She then stood up higher and got the pape out "I came to return this, seeing you lied to sell it to me!"

The four boys looked at each other then the pape, then June, then back to each other. Realising the situation Albert intervened.

"Excuse us a sec" Albert nervously laughed, they soon all huddled around each other. Making sure June wouldn't be able to hear their conversation.

"WHAT DO WE DO!?" Romeo shouted, wisbeard, to them all.

"Shhh"

"I say we give her our cash, and not to say anything" Jojo said not seeing any other option.

"And loose part of a  days pay!? I'm out!" Race stared at them, they thought till Albert mentioned "We can't beat her up, but we can't leave her here..she could tell everyone! And that would be bad. And we can't really take her."

"You don't think?" Race said out loud and they stared at him, this was the only option left.

"Jack is gonna kill us!"

June stood there waiting for them to finish up, she found it funny they were huddled up and discussing this situation. Thinking they thought she wouldn't look.

After a nod from Race they walked to her, June then stared and put the pape in her basket "Hey can  I just get my money back-"

"We're sorry about this!"

"What?-"

June was lifted over Race's shoulder, making her drop her basket, spilling the milk and dropping the flowers
. She tried to break free "AHHHH LET ME GO! LET ME GO!" She screamed at the top of her lungs. Hoping they would put her down or someone would help her.

"Take this" Romeo put a bag over her head. So you couldn't hear her that well.

"Can you still breathe?"

"AHHHHH! "

"Ok let's go!" Albert basically shouted as they ran back to their Lodging House.

June was so confused,newsies were nice that's what her brother said. You could trust them be friends with them.

She started crying realising what was happening she then thought about Spot.

What happens if it ain't me next time?

OK OK OK I KNOW THE NEWSIES ARE NICE AND LOVLEY LITTLE HUMANS BUT THE SITUATION IS A MISS UNDERSTANDING Ok!! I'M NOT SAYING THEY WOULD DO THIS.
