A: mother's and fiancées in bed weeping
B: crying over a death of a loved one
A: worried and scared, I guess no ones sleeping
B: waiting, waiting, for the war to be done.

C: war will not be over for a long time
D: just think of all the letters you're writing
C: you missed the movies for only a dime
D: and don't think of your man who is fighting

E: bang, bang, bang, and there goes another friend
F: another brother in arms has just left
E: your just sitting there and hoping it will end
F: Silence! Until you captain brakes it! "TO YOUR LEFT!"

G: you hear her sobbing from miles away.
G: you can still hear her, begging him to stay

"There never was a good war or a bad peace"
