SATURDAY - ONE WEEK LATER
"jade, can you get me the last box in my room?" i ask her while i tape another one closed. she nods and gets up from the couch, walking to the back hall leading to my room.
today we move into the new apartment. jade offered to help us since she wasn't doing anything today, and austin, of course, tagged along. most of the day has been pretty much helping me pack since most of ethan's stuff is still in his room in jersey and he doesn't have a lot here. but i, on the other hand, have a ton of random shit from living here for over a year with amy.
after the box is sealed with tape, i grab a sharpie and write clothes on the side of it. amy organized us all so we could be as "efficient as possible," so us girls are dealing with packing and boxes while the guys are handling all the heavy lifting and fitting everything into the car.
jade walks back out now, holding out the box i asked for. "here you go."
"thanks," i reply, then stack it on top of the other one i just taped. "i'm just gonna walk these down to them since they're the last ones."
jade nods her head, then falls back onto the couch and kicks her feet up on the coffee table. she's lucky amy is in the bathroom and isn't here to yell at her about having shoes on the furniture. i pick up the boxes and head for the door.
once i reach the elevator, i manage to push the button and take it down to the garage floor attached to the apartment complex.
trying my best not to trip on anything, i walk through the parking garage to find the guys. i hear them before i finally see them struggling to try and fit a box in the back trunk of the car.
"bro, it's gonna fall." ethan says, holding the box up in place stacked on top of all the others.
"it'll be good," grayson replies coolly.
"no, seriously, like it's gonna crush him when he lets go," austin tells him.
grayson just shakes his head. "no, he'll be good."
ethan hesitantly removes his hands from their spot holding the side of the box, and, to everyone's surprise, it stays in place.
"see?" grayson says with a cocky grin on his face.
austin rushes to close the trunk now that everything fits, then sighs in relief. "thank god we're fucking done." but when his eyes land on me, he immediately groans. "no, no, no. no more boxes."
"sorry, but these are the last two, i swear."
"you said that four boxes ago," he whines. "where are they even gonna fit?"
ethan takes them from my hands. "we could probably just put these in the back seat. they're small."
grayson goes to open the door for ethan. "listen, i know this is like your dream car and all, but there's no space for anything in here."
grayson has a point. since the bmw got messed up last week because of grayson and i, ethan talked to sean and they decided it'd be better for him to just take it to a dealer and get whatever money he could out of it, then use that to buy a new car. sean and lisa helped pay the difference.
i personally love his new rubicon and i know ethan's obsessed with it, but his bmw was a little more spacious.
ethan puts the boxes down in the backseat next to luna's car seat, then shuts the door. austin speaks now, furrowing his eyebrows at grayson.
"wasn't it your fault he had to get a new car?"
grayson crosses his arms, probably about to defend himself, but ethan talks first. "yes, it was his fault."
