Everyone has stories, some they are willing to tell and others they will keep forever, never telling a soul. If I were to recount, I once mentioned that Celeste loved to write, and her stories were mostly happy and cheerful. However, as time went on, those stories grew darker, weaving tales of shadows and despair.

Once we stepped aboard the ship, Ken went off to attend to his duties, leaving Celeste and me to explore. I found myself seated on a bench, engaged in conversation with Celeste.

"So, who's this mystery person you're talking to?" I asked, a touch of sarcasm in my voice.

"Oh yeah. Her name is Kris, and like I told you, she lives in Boston and wears glasses. She's also really good at drawing," Celeste explained.

"Well, can I meet her?" I inquired, half-jokingly.

"Sure!" she replied, her smile infectious.

She retrieved her phone from her pocket, positioned it towards herself, and launched a video chat app. With a few taps, she connected with the person on the other end.

"Hey, CeCe," the person greeted.

"Hey, Kris," Celeste responded, her smile widening. "There's someone I want you to meet."

"Oh? Who?" Kris inquired.

"My brother in arms, Zeke!" Celeste exclaimed, angling the camera toward me.

Curiosity piqued, I turned to catch sight of a girl around our age wearing glasses, just as Celeste had described.

"Brother in arms?" I questioned, a hint of confusion coloring my words. "Isn't that phrase reserved for war?"

She rolled her eyes and playfully nudged me. "Also, hi," I chimed in, directing my attention towards the phone.

Kris giggled. "Hi, nice to meet you, I'm Kristina, but you can call me Kris."

"I'm Zeke," I introduced myself.

Over the next few hours, Celeste, Kris, and I engaged in conversation, discussing various topics, from life in Boston to random tidbits.

"I'm gonna go wash up. I'll be right back," Celeste announced, rising from the bench. "You guys can keep talking."

"Okay," Kris and I replied in unison.

"So, what's your story?" Kris initiated, turning to face me.

"What story?" I queried, taken aback by the sudden inquiry.

"You know, who are you?" she clarified.

"Oh, I'm nobody important," I replied nonchalantly.

"That's bullshit. She talks about you all the time. I'm pretty sure you're important to her," Kris declared, her tone adamant. "And I want to see why."

A smirk danced across her face.

"She's known me since we were little, and we've rarely ever been separated," I shared.

"Like ever?" she probed further.

I pondered for a moment. "Now that you mention it, the only times I remember not being by her side were when we had to go home when it got dark."

"I ship you two," Kris declared, accompanied by laughter. "No pun intended."

"Why?" I inquired, genuinely curious.

"Because, stupid! You two are cute together," she practically yelled.

"Chill," I responded, chuckling. It was something I had heard before, and at this point, it didn't bother me much.
