Juniper Ray's p.o.v
Class is so boring, I hope Austin is having fun in art. History is the worst! I look over my shoulder a little, Derrel is sitting in the seat behind me for the semester, and I fucking hate it. He is a huge asshole to me and Austin doesnt even know, same with Ivy, my bff. I start to get really annoyed as I feel him keep tapping my shoulder, I finally turn, trying to be polite.
"Yes?" I give him a polite smile.
"Why does Austin hang around a faghot with you, your the worst human to ever exist, just go kill yourself, slut" the last word hits me like a knife to the heart.
I turn around, whispering "hes my brother"
He gives me a shocked look, then a smug grin.
"Your the smarter one, yet you live in his shadow" he leans forward trying to annoy me.
"So what" I say quietly.
"You should be the popular one, you even know how to write books....how about you meet me after school and I'll help you get back at him" his grin is plastered on his face, and I know he doesnt take no for an answer.
"Sorry but no" I say quietly.
Hes about to speak when I hear the bell ring, I grab my stuff and book it out of the class. I run to my locker, meeting Ivy to go to our next class, our free class. Both me and her dont have to do math because we are at college level math. I hip bump her to get her attention.
"Let's go, this time it's my choice where we go, I say we go to the library" I smile and pull open my locker, stuffing my things inside and grabbing my notebook.
"Fine, but this means tommorow we are going to the music room to come up with lyrics for a song" she nudges me with her elbow.
"Ok, but if we are doing lyrics for a new song how about we have a competition" I smirk at her as her eyes widened.
"You have my attention!" We start walking towards the library.
"After school we both start to come up with lyrics and notes for a new song, tommorow we present the song to the other and whoever wins gets to choose the losers fate" I pull her through the library doors, bringing us towards the very far corner that's dimly lit.
"Yes! That's definatly happening!" She giggles.
We both sit down and we pull out our own notebooks. I see her shuffle around on her chair before sitting comfortably. I take off my shoes and bring my legs up, my notebook resting on my legs. I quickly begin to think of what new outfit I should design and I settle for making a new dress. I begin to sketch it out, adding measurements and fabric types.
I manage to design a dark purple train dress, black lace overtop of the purple. The sleeves end up being off the shoulder with purple straps going around the neck with x design on an open back. I smile, putting my notebook away and looking around, I quickly regret my decision as me and Derrell make eye contact. He has a wild smirk on his face as he walks over.
He towers over me in my chair, I only seem to shrink down even farther.
"My favorite little book worm, have you changed your mind to meet me later" he gives me a smile that I know well enough is fake.
He pulls up a chair and sits with us, pulling out his own little notebook, quickly writing something before putting it away.
"Why would she want to meet you later?" Ivy asks curiously, she seems to think something is going on between us.
"Because she might just have the time of her life" he winks at me.
"I'll leave you two to discuss this, good luck Juniper" she hurts off, leaving me with a shocked look.
Derrell smirk as he comes closer, he stands above me and leans down, holding my wrists against the arm wrests of the chair.
"Listen here Juniper, you meet me after school, I'm not going to take no as an answer, also, you have to pretend to be my friend, even though I'm going to beat the shit out of ya later" his face is too close to mine, our eyes are locked together, I cant look away.
"F...fine" I stutter, trying to get him to back off.
"Good, I'll see you after school at the entrance" he smiles at me before turning away, but he quickly turns around and punches me in the gut.
I wheeze, coughing into my sleeve. I hold my gut in pain as tears build up in my eyes. He walks away. I slowly get up, gathering my stuff and leaving. I head to my locker and put stuff away except my notebook, pencil and eraser. I head to the cafeteria, seams as empty as always, I head to the counter and smile at the girl at the register.
"Good morning Susanne, how are things with your nephew" I take out my wallet, pulling out $5, she sees the amount and instantly knows what I want.
"Things are good, hes getting better, I'm just glad hes making progress, and you know you can always call me auntie when were alone" she gives me a kind smile as she makes me a french vanilla, making sure it's not too warm or not too cold.
We arnt exactly related but were pretty close because she helped me out in grade 9,she also was my homeroom teacher in grade 8. Weve grown close enough to practically be related, it's our little secret.
"Well I'm glad hes making progress auntie, how have you been feeling?" I ask a little worried, shes getting a bit old, grey hair mixing in with her black hair.
Soon I hear the bell ring for lunch and I'm off to go outside, french vanilla in hand with my stuff in the other.
