~Felix P.O.V.~
I paced the long hallway with my hands clasped behind my back. The silence that laced the stale air weighed down on my shoulders, making it hard to breathe. The Boss had summoned me earlier in the morning and I stood outside his office waiting for his call. His door was at the end of the hall, a hall that seemed to go on for miles. Sweat was beginning to form in little beads across my neck, but I shoved the nerves to the back of my head. I've been highly trained my whole life for these moments and was not about to chicken out now. My crew was waiting on standby for our orders in the main lobby of the Boss' building. This was an in-and-out meeting.
I straightened the cuff on my blazer and looked myself over in the mirror to my left. Dressed in all black, I wore a button up shirt, dress pants, and a blazer. The only thing that hinted at my non-professional side was my hair. I ran my fingers through my choppy black hair as I inspected the shaved side. The lights above me reflected off my earrings as I turned to the doorway. The tall black door slowly opened and the darkness of the room engulfed my body.
"Felix." A deep voice greeted me coldly as my heels clicked on the tile floor.
"Boss." I replied and bowed before the desk in front of me. I could not see his face, but I knew he was there.
"You remember Charity, correct?" He asked. Not long ago he sent my crew and I on a quest to find an elf-girl named Charity, she somehow knew we were coming and was prepared with a team to fight us off.
"Yes." I kept my answers short, the less said leaves little room to make a mistake.
The sound of shifting fabric on leather drew my attention to the right. We were not alone. "Then you also know of the Orb." There was no question in his voice. "I want it."
"Sir." I caught my tongue before I could protest any further.
"You will bring it to me. Mila here will accompany you. Dismissed." A delicate hand rested on my shoulder and led me back to the door.
Anger fueled my body as the door slammed shut behind us. Find the Orb? Does he understand what that's asking of me and the crew? I exited the dark office and a tall women followed me. She said nothing as we walked down the long hallway where my crew waited.
"Felix." The gruff voice of my close companion Garr greeted me as the door opened in front of us. "Who's this?"
"Well," I looked back to get a good look of the woman. Her green hair covered her eyes, dressed in all white, her suit draped over her dark skin, revealing an array of weapons strapped to her legs and hips. "This is Mila. She's joining us in our mission."
"Mila. Why does the Boss think we need some female to do our job?" Garr stepped toward us and cocked his head to the side, showing off the blind eye on the right of his face.
Mila didn't say a word as she came face to face with Garr. He raised an eyebrow and in the blink of an eye had him pinned to the wall with his arm behind his back. Garr struggles beneath her grip but ultimately failed to break free. She grit her teeth and released him, leaving him stumbling over his pride.
"Enough. Garr, Mila, Yuro. We have a job to do. Follow me" I raked my eyes over the two of them, and motioned for Yuro, a short blonde haired assassin I recruited a while back. Yuro grabbed his bow from the ground and was at my side, while Garr glared at Mila. We exited the office building that opened up into a bright town.
The sun shown over the buildings and stores that surrounded their base. Hiding in plain sight of the humans. We walked down the street where a black SUV was waiting for us. I opened the back door and ushered my team inside, slamming the door shut behind me.
