I walk in the door quietly, so not to wake my dad. I sneak to the stairs to see him waiting for me. "You're late," he grumbles to me. "The game went into overtime, nothing I could do." I replied without any emotion. "Like hell you couldn't," he says to me removing his belt. "Are you telling me you couldn't have left?" He practically screams at me. "No, I was playing the entire game, if I get kicked off the team, I won't get a scholarship, and you'll be stuck with me." "SHUT UP and go to bed!" he shrieks, whipping my arm with the belt. I swear under my breath and push past him to my room, slamming the door. I pull out my homework and rush through it, doing the work for almost none of them. I change into my old t-shirt and shorts, laying down on my bed. Sleep doesn't come easily.
