"I fucking hate this class." Riley groaned as she tossed her backpack onto the floor and sat in the chair beside me.

    I frowned. "Why? I think it's interesting."

She raised her eyebrows and threw a sideways glance in my direction. "If you think it's so interesting, you wanna do my assignment this period?"

"In your fucking dreams Riley." I replied laughing, "The class isn't even hard, you're definitely intelligent enough to do this shit. It's just reading and memorization. High school's a piece of cake."

"Yeah, I know, but it's sooooo boring. Who even likes History?"

"Uh, I do?" I said, raising my hand for dramatic effect.

"Yeah, cause you're weird." She said laughing. "Hey, can you give me a ride home after practice today?"

    "Yeah, of course."

    "Cool. Thanks, Devon."

    "No problemo."

Class started after Mr. Renolds came into the room. Today's lecture was on WWII and the Holocaust, which I was excited about, because I found the topic incredibly interesting, albeit horrific. We watched a documentary, which I tried my best to remain quiet and pay attention to. However, unfortunately for me, Riley wouldn't shut up and kept making comments throughout the entire thing. Not even on the documentary, just talking in general. And even more unfortunately, I was completely unable to ignore her, and she knew it. I loved watching her dark eyebrows move animatedly as she talked, and her smile was absolutely killer. I couldn't help but turn to look at her and respond. It was insanely frustrating.

After class, I said goodbye and headed to my last class of the day, Calculus. Now this class, I was not a fan of. I could do math, sure, but that didn't mean I liked it. I made my way over to my usual seat at a table with my friends Jamie, Emily, and Matt.

"Hey, guys, what's up?" I asked, throwing myself into my seat.

"Eh, not much, dude." Replied Jamie, "How was History?"
"Great, except Riley wouldn't stop talking to me for the entire duration of the documentary we were watching."

Jamie rolled her eyes, "You've got to stop feeding into that and just ignore her. She's only doing it cause she knows you'll give her the attention she's looking for."

"Hey, it's not that bad. It was just kinda annoying today cause I really did want to watch the documentary." I said, feeling slightly defensive.

"Whatever. Hey, do you guys have any plans this weekend? I was thinking of throwing a little party for the soccer team and company in my basement this weekend?" Jamie asked.

"Oh, hell yes!" Matt exclaimed, throwing his fist into the air. "Can we have a Mario Kart tournament at the party?"

"Yeah, sure." Jamie replied chuckling, "How about you guys?"

    "I'm down," I said grinning.

"Me too." Emily smirked, "I can't wait to get smashed."

We had just recently discovered the wonders of drinking over winter break, and since then Jamie had been on a party-throwing craze that none of us were upset about. They weren't actually parties in the traditional sense of high school parties. We just invited a bunch of the girls we were close to on the soccer team and some of our other friends and drank and hung out in Jamie's basement. The parties were pretty chill, not any huge ragers that would alert the otherwise oblivious parents upstairs.
