The wind howled as people passed by one another, minding their own business as they tried to quickly arrive at their destinations to escape the cold.

It was now December.

Many years had passed.

People were wearing coats to try and keep themselves warm, despite the lack of white snow that was promised to rain down on Christmas Eve that was coming up in the next few days.

She smiled softly, glancing up at the blue sky with her own memories flashing before her eyes, remembering the people that she holds dear in her heart.

She missed them dearly, her heart aching at not being able to see them again. But what could she do?

She could not go back no matter how hard she tried. No matter how many nights she had slept to hope to wake up next to her beloved, but always waking up in her empty hospital room.

She had no one this world. No friends. No family. They were all dead by the time she came about.

She glances down at the necklace that softly rested against her clothes, just above her beating heart. A constant reminder of her love, of the one that would always love her. A piece of him that would always stay with her in her heart.
