Chapter 23: Bitter

I stared through the window as I was bored waiting for jungkook inside the restaurant while shaking my legs as that's my habit

I took a sip of my juice before pulling out my phone from my pocket

"I'm sorry for being late" a voice greeted me when I was busy scrolling my handphone

He smiled bitterly before ruffling his hair

"It's okay" I lifted my head with a smile plastered on my face and gestured him to sit in front of me

"Let's order something quick" he said after taking a glance of the waiter who's standing beside us

"Yeah" my hands turned the pages on the menu

"Just burger for me" I closed the menu and told the waiter

"Me too then" jungkook closed the menu too and smiled to me

The waiter wrote it down "drinks?" he looked at both of us

"just plain water will be enough" jungkook refused

"mango juice for me" I ordered before the waiter walks away

Jungkook clasped both of his hands on the table and stared outside. I pursued my lips

"Why are you moving out" I cleared my throat

"Just for fun?" He shifted his gaze on me and chuckled

I felt like he's lying as his chuckle was an awkward one

"You sure?" I asked to make sure he's not joking

"Yeah it's fun moving out" He leaned his back against the chair and smiled. I stared him for a few seconds before shifting my gaze

"do you perhaps" Jungkook leaned closer

"think I'm moving out because of you? " He smiled widely and giggled

"no" I denied and shook my head .

He chuckled and his eyes got smaller as his smile got wider

"I'm sorry for lying" I said out loud sudden. His smile fades away and he froze himself

"It's the past" He gave a reasurring smile

"I'm just sorry" I stared downcast , the table

"I know I was wrong" I continued

"but I didn't get the chance to say sorry" I added

"I'm sorry for r-rejecting you for a silly reason too" he stuttered

"I don't think it's silly since you have trauma with girls who lies right " I stared him with pity

"how did you know?" his face scrunched in confusion

"taehyung told me" I replied and smiled bitterly .

"but I made you cry that day" he said with guilt in his voice
