ALEX SMIRKED AS she jumped down from the climbing wall in gym class.

The girl she was going up with tripped over the rock she was on, as the harness undid, causing the girl to free fall.

The girl screamed.

"Shit." Alex whispered under her breath as she caught the girl successfully, placing her on the ground softly.

"Thank you." The girl breathed as she stood up and ran off.

"Wow, okay then." Coach mumbled with a frown.

Just then, Scott and Allison went up together after the coach got new harnesses.

Allison tripped Scott over, causing the harness around Scott to tighten.

Alex snorted.

"Your pain, McCall, brings me so much joy." Coach smirked as he approached Scott. "Alright, next two. Stilinski, Erica, let's go."

"Wait, Coach, I thought Stiles was gonna go with me. I volunteered to go twice since there is an odd number." Alex frowned.

"Ah well, too late." Coach huffed. "Stilinski, Erica, go!"

Alex rolled her eyes.

Stiles went over to the wall as Erica, a girl in the class, looked at it with fear in her eyes.

"Good luck hoodlum." Alex scoffed to Stiles.

The boy winked at Alex as he went up, Alex rolling her eyes in annoyance.

Erica gulped nervously and went over to the wall slowly.

Stiles was ahead, climbing up successfully, while Erica was having difficulty.

Alex went over to the wall.

"Alex, what are you doing?!" Coach exclaimed.

"I'm encouraging her, since she's clearly not encouraged enough." Alex rolled her eyes as she turned back to Erica.

"Keep going." Alex spoke to the nervous girl.

"That's not helping." Erica shakily voiced as she kept trying, grunting from the effort.

"I'm trying to help you, Erica." Alex frowned.

Stiles already made it down as Erica started to hyperventilate. She stopped in her place as Alex frowned.

"Alex, what's wrong?" Stiles questioned with a frown.

Alex didn't say anything as she kept looking at Erica.

Everyone crowded around the nervous girl.

"Erica." Coach frowned. "Dizzy? Is it vertigo?"

"Not helping, coach." Alex frowned. "It's okay if you wanna come down, Erica."

Erica started crying.

"Plus, vertigo is a—" Lydia started.

"Dysfunction of the vestibular system in the inner ear." Alex finished as Lydia smirked and high-fived her best friend.

"She's just freaking out." Lydia added.

Stiles frowned at Alex in question.

"Erica." Coach spoke.

"I'm—I'm fine." Erica hesitated.

"I don't think it's safe, Coach." Allison spoke. "You know she's epileptic."

"Why doesn't anybody tell me this stuff? Erica you're fine, just kick off the wall." Coach spoke to Erica.

After a minute, Erica kicked off and fell to the ground safely, Alex frowning from next to Stiles.
