A Hero's Final Battle

Avocet has gotten himself into a battle that he knows he won't come home from. So late at night he says his final goodbyes to everyone while they are sleeping. Then he goes into battle and gets crushed by a rock from the legs to the chest. His mother gets a really bad feeling and heads out. She finds her son crushed. There's so much blood. She knows that he won't survive much long. The others arrive as well.
