I bite back at the realization of what might happen to me now, the worst person imaginable standing in front of me.

"Captain Arthur Kirkland."

~~four years before~~

"Father?" (Name) cried out from an empty room.

The young girl walked into its gaping four walls , taking in the cobwebs in the corners of the ceilings. She glanced towards the painting on the left, her etheral mother being painted in one of them. Her lips couldn't help but curl up in a smile as she saw another painting, herself and her mother, outside on a summer day. Shaking away her thoughts, she began searching for her father once again. (Name) walked down the eerie hall of the small cottage, continuously calling out for her father.

"Father? Father, where are you?" A mild conversation could be heard from afar, and being the curious 13 year old she was she sneaked to find the ruckus. Finding the center of the noise, she carefully tiptoed her way towards the door. She dared not to open it, but did dare enough to listen in on the conversation.

"20 gold pieces." A deep voice said.

"But, I don't have the money right now! Please sirs, give me more time!" She heard her father plea.

(Name) gasped at the sound of this, what was going on? Unfortunately, her gasp had made her presence known to the strangers. Two rugged men appeared from the door, one with unruly brown hair and the other with long blonde locks. Their brown eyes bore into the frightened girl, fear seeping into her skin.

"You must be the daughter." One of the men said, smirking arrogantly at her.

"Father, what is going on?" (Name) questioned to her father.

Tears began to form in his eyes as he realized the grave situation they were in.

"It's fine sweetheart. Please, just--." Her father was cut off by the blonde speaking.

"Oi, you think this would do?" He said, speaking to his partner. The partner smirked evilly and grabbed ahold of her arm, tugging on the muscle and bone.

(Name) yelped as the man tugged on her arm, her blood running cold at the stares coming her way.

"Yes, this will do. Quite nicely actually." The brown haired man said with a snicker.

"No! Please sirs not my only daughter, she's all I have left! Please I can--"

"Enough old man." One of the rugged men said and pulled out a sword, pointing it towards the girl's father. "No! Father!" She screamed lurching towards her only parent. (Name) stepped in the middle of the blade and her father, her arms wide open whilst her eyes flooded with tears.

"Please men, I'll go with you. Just promise me no harm goes to my father or this home." She said weakly.

The two men exchanged glances and nodded, "Sure lass, we promise." (Name) turned to her father, salty tears leaking from her eyes. Her lips quivered as she looked into her father's eyes for what she imagined the last time. Placing her arms around him her tears flowed endlessly, along with his.

"I'll be fine." His lovely daughter whispered into his ear. She meant to be reassuring him but she was also trying to reassure herself. (Name) knew of the dangers ahead of her and prayed that the fates would be kind to her.

"Alright lass, 'ere we go."

~~~(Name) ended up being sold. For once in her life she cursed herself for looking so beautiful. She cursed her mother for giving birth to such a gorgeous daughter, and prayed that she would be alright. The girl trembled as she walked into her new home, shackles on both her arms and legs. She was given a small room in the large house her master owned, you could practically call it cupboard by how small it was. Poor (Name) wept at the thought of her father, missing her small home. However she did get lucky that the man who bought her only wanted her for her looks, keeping her around as a pretty servant instead of a different kind of servant. She was still in the same town however she wasn't allowed out of the house. After some time she tried to escape, however she always caught and always got a beating.
