Handling a company is not easy. Especially when my sister is not around; she was the one who graduated in business administration. I freaking don’t have a clue with this. Well, maybe a little knowledge. I did study business management for two years.

I was busy reading the contracts when my secretary entered the office

“ma’am, Mr. Wu is here to see you” my male secretary said

“tell him I’m busy” I say not looking up

“hi, baby” Kris says as he pushes my secretary aside

I immediately saw a hint of jealousy on his face when I smiled fondly on my secretary.

What? He’s nice and very efficient. He never caused me any troubles or delays whenever I worked and besides he’s the same age as I am and he’s hot too.

Kris snaps me out of my thoughts

“you’re too fond of your secretary” he waves his hand on my face “maybe you should fire him and hire me” he smirks

“no, thank you. I don’t like working with you” I said and went back to reading the contracts

After a few minutes, Kris starts talking “I have a business proposition”

“then talk to my sister”

“I’d rather talk to you because this is your company and you’re involved”

“okay then, I’m listening” I slumped back on the chair and look at him

“you studied law when you entered the military right? Right after you graduated medicine?”

“yes, that was 2 years ago. I was juggling law and practicing medicine. Why?”

“since you studied law, maybe you can help me with my law firm”

“you want me to hire your law firm?” I asked quizzically

We talked about a lot of business related contracts when he suddenly said

“in order for those to be fulfilled and your company earning more and it will be easier to do expansion if you marry me.” He says and hands me a contract

“WHAT?” I stood up “you are crazy. I am not involving my personal life in business and work.”

“if you don’t marry me. You’ll go bankrupt. And remember, I have underground connections that can help you go bankrupt. 5 of them are your investors” he looks at me with a deadly stare

He wasn’t kidding. He’s threatening me. I gulped. That scared me. I don’t want this company to go bankrupt. My sister and I worked hard to be this successful.

“where’s the contract?” I ask and sit down

He hands me the contract and I start reading

“don’t worry the marriage will only last for a year. After that we’ll file a divorce. And by signing the contract you’ll also help me with my personal life” Kris says as he plays with a pen

“so, auntie and uncle are still urging you to get married” since we had a past I call his parents auntie and uncle. I chuckled “let me guess, they placed you in an arranged marriage; and knowing you, you don’t want to be tied down with some random lady. So you’re asking me to marry you because you want a convenient and uncomplicated marriage. You’re not asking some random girl to do this with you because auntie wouldn’t approve of that. You chose me because auntie knows me and wouldn’t mind if you told her that I was the one you’re going to marry.”

“uh huh.” He says and nods

“so typical of you.” I sighed “you should have just said so from the beginning and didn’t involve business” I signed the contract

“if I didn’t say the things I said, you wouldn’t have agreed” he also signs the paper

“true” I say and held out my hand. He then takes it

“deal.” Kris says and suddenly kisses my hand “how about we go grab some lunch, my dear fiancée?” he chuckles

“you don’t have to act sweet and gooey when we’re together. This is just pretend” I say

“we have to make it look real”

“only in front of your parents” I take my purse “you’re paying lunch”

“okay” he then follows me
