Veronica's POV
Movies. The most common way people spend time together. As friends, as a family or as a couple. A lot of people rather spend two hours of their lives sitting in front of a TV than going out for a coffee or go on a walk.
Sometimes whilst watching a movie, whether it is a sci-fi, rom-com or a horror, can help or make you escape the world that is still going around you. Your body, your soul, just shuts down for two hours as you get an insight on someone else's lives.
"Axel! I don't want to watch a horror!" I whined to Axel. The amount of movies we have watched together within the past week is not funny, and it is only Wednesday.
Tonight, we had asked Sam and Mitch to join us, but they wanted to do their own thing. As they were walking up to Sam's bedroom, Axel's eyes were glued onto their backs with a frown on his face, not comfortable with allowing them to go to the bedroom. Axel was going to back out of tonight, suggesting we should go to my bedroom so he could eavesdrop. I said no and that we should let them be.
Marie is in the living room with us, reading one of her so many novels. I really don't know how she is reading when in the same room, Axel and myself are bickering over what movie to watch.
"At least watching a horror is more interesting than a romantic movie. Romantic movies are always predictable and so cheesy. Two people meet each other, hate each other, fall in love, have an argument that breaks them up for not even two weeks and there back together again. It's the same plot in every romantic movie!" Axel complains, being really accurate to what happens in romance movies.
"Well, you only want to watch a horror because you want me to get scared, therefore I cuddle close to you. That is what you call being a pervert. I hate horror movies and I always get nightmares afterwards!" I defend myself, crossing my arms over my chest and slumping more into the couch.
"I don't care. We are watching horror." He says with confidence, grabbing the remote and scrolling down the home page on Netflix until he gets to the Horror category. I groan in content, but still don't give up.
"No, we are not!" I say through gritted teeth, trying to reach for the remote which he is holding upwards, way out of my reach.
"Yes!"
"No!"
"Yes!"
"I said no!"
"Yeah? Well I said yes. So, it's a yes."
"Axel! Veronica! Stop acting like five year olds and instead act like your actual age. Since you can't decide, please give me the remote." Marie yelled, to my surprise. It was my first time ever hearing Marie raise her voice, ever, and I plan to make that the last time as well. It isn't something I want to happen again.
Axel lets out a groan of frustration and hands over the remote, making Marie now smile. Marie leaves the room and heads to the kitchen. It gives Axel time to jump down my throat, telling me it is my fault. He is smart not to yell is profanities, instead he hisses them at me.
Marie walks back into the room, with a smirk and a piece of paper in her hands, the remote nowhere in sight.
"Now, kids, since you two couldn't decide on a movie to watch, you guys get to go grocery shopping for me!" She exclaims, clapping her hands in excitement and an evil grin situated on her face. Before we could protest, she cuts us off.
"Oh My God! I am so happy that you kindly agreed with me. Get off your butts, here is the list and money, get in the car and go. You will need to do this for yourself someday, might as well start early." Marie demanded. Not wanting to piss Marie off any more, myself and Axel both jump to our feet. I retrieve the list and money whereas Axel gets his phone and keys for his Spyder.
