The current is a beautiful thing. It ebbs and flows, blowing the kelp of the ocean floor serenely back and forth with smooth, gentle caresses. Many of the ocean dwellers say that the sea is a very warm, welcoming home. The water feels like a very light hug, soothing hug that keeps everyone comforted and happy.

That is, all accept for one. He prefers to stay in his small seaweed house where its warm, soft, and small. He likes it here because he has everything he needs, a sweet bed of algae, his growing collection of pretty shells, and a safe space for himself

Virgil's life is... it's a life. He won't say he's completely happy with how things are, but he can manage, so he's rather not change things. When Virgil has a system that works for him, he won't do anything to disturb it, that would be crazy.

There's one tiny little problem with Virgil's lifestyle. He needs food, and eating the algae from his small home isn't very appetizing. The plump kepl from the sea floor will be easy enough to store up on for a week or two... if Virgil can just get out and back, it'll be fine, just fine-

Hesitantly... Virgil peeks out of his small house... the cool blue water blows back and forth, ruffling Virgil's soft hair for a brief moment. A vast expanse of coral reef looms in the distance, just beyond the kelp beds. It's beautiful and scraggly, reflecting thousands of tiny rainbows from the surface, where the sun rains down onto the water.

No no no no nope- Virgil darts back into his small home and swims in small circles, munching frightfully on his lip. Maybe he can wait till tomorrow? It looks so far to get down there... and he won't be with anyone. What if there's a shark that swims up and bites him? What if the tide blows him away and he can't find home? What if his tail gets stuck in some kelp? What if an octopus blinds him? What if-

Virgil's whirly thoughts are interrupted by an uncomfortable growling in his stomach. He whimpers softly and curls up into a ball, trying to catch his breath. In... out... Three feelings... two things that make him happy... one thing he looks forward to... in... out... okay, he's okay. He's just taking deep breaths and reminding himself that he can make a quick trip into the kelp bed and come back to his happy place in just a few minutes.
