Your POV

The next day I woke up cuddled to Lauren who was hugging Payton. I smile until I remembered why she was here. Jade. I frowned. She was really gone. My best friend was no longer on his earth. I let go of Lauren, grabbed my phone, and went to the bathroom. I called Jade wanting to hear her voicemail. I remembered she set one and I wanted to hear her voice one last time. Her phone went straight to voicemail and I almost cried at the sound of her voice.

"Hey it's Jade, since I didn't answer I'm probably ignoring you or dead in a ditch somewhere because I always answer my phone. Leave a message, peace."

I ended the call and bit my lip to refrain myself from sobbing. The dead in a ditch somewhere was too real now. I winced at the pain in my head. My voices were all either crying or arguing about what happened. I was starting to get annoyed so I grabbed a razor and took the blade out. I brought it to my wrists and made a few cuts. One for Jade. Another for Jade. And one more for Jade. I know she wouldn't want me to but I couldn't help it. I then cleaned up the mess and went back to my room. I put on a jacket to cover my cuts.

I then laid down in the bed next to Lauren. This didn't feel real. Part of me felt like I would wake up and Jade would be there laughing at me because she just poured ice cold water on my head. I'd chase her around the house until I got my revenge. Too bad that would never happen again.

Then Lauren woke up. "Hey babe," she greeted.

"Hey," I whispered with a sad smile.

She returned it. "I'm sorry."

I shrugged. "It's okay."

She shook her head. "No it's not. She was your best friend."

"It doesn't matter. I'm used to people dying."

Lauren frowned as she looked down. That's when she realized I was wearing a jacket. "Why are you wearing a Jacket?" She asked.

I shrugged. "I got cold."

She gave me a look. "It's like eighty five degrees." I shrugged. "Take off the jacket." I shook my head. "Take the jacket of Y/n." I rolled my eyes but did as I was told. Once she saw my cuts tears filled her eyes. "Y/n," she paused as a sob escaped her lips, "Why?"

"Why do you think?" I asked as tears filled my own eyes. "The only one who as ever been there for me is dead. She said she'd never leave me and she did." I was full on crying now

"She didn't want to leave you," Lauren rationalized. "It was an accident. She would never leave you on purpose. She loved."

"I don't care!" I exclaimed between sobs. "She's still gone!"

We heard groaning coming from Payton. She woke up. "Mommy, what's going on? Why are you crying?" She squinted her eyes.

"Jade," I gave sad smile.

"Oh," Payton frowned as she rubbed her eyes. "You mean it wasn't a dream?"

"I'm sorry baby," I apologized.

"Do I have school today?" She asked me.

I nodded. "Yes, But you don't have to g-"

"I want to," she interrupted. "I wanna forget."

I nodded. "Okay, then start getting ready."

Payton nodded and got up but then she saw my arms. "Mommy, What are those?" She pointed to my cuts and scars.

I kneeled down to her level. "They're called battle scars. If you ever see somebody with them hug them. It means they're angels who don't like this place and are trying to go home. Okay?" Payton nodded and hugged me. She then went to get ready for school.

After we dropped her off me and Lauren went home. Around ten o'clock I got a call from the school saying Payton got in a fight. "What?!" I exclaimed.

"I'm sorry," Ms. Flores apologized. "But you need to come to the school."

"Okay, I'll be there shortly," I hung up the phone and turned to Lauren. "Payton got in a fight."

"What?"

"You heard me. Let's go." We rushed to her school and go there in five minutes. When we got there a mom and dad were there too.

"Hello," Ms. Flores greeted us. "Come with me." We followed her to her office we're Payton and another kid were seated. "Payton, Joaquin, your parents are here."

Wait a second. Joaquin? That's Payton's bully. Ha I'm not mad now. She probably defended her herself.

"Payton," Ms Flores spoke to her, "why don't you tell your mom what you did." Payton didn't speak. Ms. Flores sighed. "Payton jabbed Joaquin in the throat."

Me and Lauren had to try to keep straight faces considering this is what we told her to do if the bullying continued.

Joaquin's mom and dad gasped. They turned to me and Lauren with a glare. "Why don't you teach your kid manner."

I gave them a look. "Why don't you teach your kid not to bully others."

"I don't know what you're talking about," the father said offended.

"I'm talking about the fact that your kid has been bullying my daughter," I scoffed.

"Please, our son would never do such thing," the mom said. "Your daughter is a liar. But what can you expect from a couple of eighteen year old lesbian parents."

"My daughter doesn't lie and at least my kid is open minded unlike some people," I growled.

They rolled their eyes. "Now they are both suspended for two days," Ms. Flores said the punishment. "You may leave."

We left and got in the car. "Am I in trouble?" Payton asked.

Me and Lauren looked at each other before simultaneously saying, "No." Payton smiled.

"But please don't do it again," I said.

Her smile fell. "Fine." We went home and watched more Sofia until night fell. Lauren stayed with us the whole time. Finally we went to bed.
