I'm not dead! As you could clearly tell from my recent update of this story! Sorry that I've been gone for so long, things have just been popping up left and right in my life as of lately (job hopping, long term relationship failure, moving, the whole nine yard! ^^'). As of now things have been pretty calm and I'm back to being in the creative writing mood, so watch out WattPad readers! Anime is here to kick ya butts with some kick-ass stories! Enjoy!

The car ride was silent, aside from the soft sound of the tires on pavement. It was awkward on my part, but it looks like Kishi doesn't seem to mind the quietness. He isn't exactly the talkative type anyways, but he is one thing; a smoker. I watch as he pulls a cigarette from his pack with his mouth and light it. He pops open his window as he takes a long draw.
This gives me an opportunity to break the silence "Do ever not smoke?"
He glances at me then back at the road, a smirk creeps up on his lips "Only when I sleep, but even then I sometimes wake up with a lit cigarette in my mouth."
I can't help but laugh at his horrible joke and hm softly when I soft, because my attempt at conversation was lackluster and it went back to being silent. I'm not sure if it was the silence or the actual travel time, but the drive feels as if its been going on for forever. I notice the city lights have started to grow distant and more forests come into view.
"You're not taking me out to the woods to where you can kill me are you?" I ask jokingly.
He chuckles and flicks his finished cigarette out the window "Don't get yourself worked up now, I'm here to protect you remember? My house is far from the city cause of the work I do. We'll get there soon, it's just down the road from here." We drive down a winding road for a bit and soon pull into a graveled driveway "Alright, we're here." He turns off the car and steps out.
I grab my two bags I was holding onto and the few that he tucked in the back while he grabs the rest from the trunk. While I wait on him, I get a closer look at his house. It's a two story, although the lower level looks to be just a garage and there's a staircase on the side oh the house leading to the upper level which I could only assume was the actual living space.
"Well what are you waitin' for? Come on."
His sudden words caught me off guard while I was lost in thought and scared me, just a little. "Jesus... Could you not be so quiet, it's unnerving."
He doesn't respond as I follow behind him, but I could feel that he had a smug look on his face just by how he carried himself. Going up the staircase, the wooden boards creaked and crackled with each step, like they'd snap under at any given moment. Once up the front door was opened a cluttered living area is revealed with dirty clothes and beer cans all over the floor.
"Sorry 'bout the mess. If I had known I'd be havin' company over I would've cleaned up."
I notice the level rise from the front door and if I remember correctly this means I should take off my shoes before entering completely, but at the same time I doubt it mattered considering how messy the place is already. Regardless I remove my shoes and place them to the side and step in. The place itself was homey aside from the laundry bomb that hit it, he had a futon in the corner of the room, a kotatsu table in the middle, a TV, a single bathroom, and a small but manageable kitchen. Kishi sets my bags down on the counter and goes over to the fridge "Wanna beer?"
I place my bags next to the rest and stretch "Sure, I could go for one."
Grabbing one he tosses it to me without warning. I scramble to catch it "Fucking hell! Maybe a little warning next time!" I crack it open and slurp the foam that bubbled out.
