You Were My Home

Fighting with you
Was like arguing
With a brick wall.
I'd repeat over and over
The things that you did
To hurt me
And it was like all your doors
Were closed to me.
When you loved,
You did it with so much fire
And passion.
But when you fought
You did it with an icy heart
And your feelings turned
Off.
The light in your eyes
Burned out.
I asked to come inside
For warmth.
And instead
You locked me out.
