Chapter 1 🍵

Sooyun's POV
"Did you finish the work that's due today?"My friend, Minjoo asked me.

"No, not at all. I haven't been focusing lately,"I said as I put my hand on my forehead.

"It's probably because you always go to the coffee shop," She laughed. 

"It's not that.  I haven't been sleeping lately.  I've been up all night trying to finish essays and projects that I can't focus on just regular work."

"Well, try resting.  Some of the essays are due later than usual."

College is too hard.

"Speaking of the coffee shop, I should probably go there soon,"I said.

"You have an addiction," She said. "I'm not going.  I have something to do at home."

"I have a love to the coffee shop. It's not an addiction,"I laughed as I started walking away to the coffee shop.

I started going to the coffee shop once college started.  I'm a regular at this specific coffee shop called, Sun's Café and I usually do my college work there.

While I was walking there, my legs started to hurt.  The coffee shop wasn't too far but it feels like a really long walk.

I wish I had a car to drive there instead of walking.

Junkyu's POV
"And then you close the cup and then you serve it,"Jihoon told me as he handed the order to the customer.

"Oh.  Alright.  I get it,"I nodded.

"Alright, good luck on your first day buddy," He patted my shoulder.

It was my first day at Sun's Café.  I work as a barista.  It seemed cool and I was excited to work there. 

Someone came in, so I walked to the cash register.  It was a girl, who I'm assuming was a student at a high school because she had a backpack on and she looked really young.  She was my first customer, so I was really excited.

"Hi, welcome to Sun's Café!  What would you like?"I asked her.

"I would like an iced matcha green tea, please," She said.

"What size would you like?"

"Large please."

"Oh hi Sooyun,"Jihoon smiled and waved at her.

Do they know each other?

The girl smiled and waved back.  I told her the price and she handed me her credit card and I started making her iced matcha green tea.

"Here's your large iced matcha green tea,"I handed it to her. "Enjoy!"

Alright, I got my first customer down. I did good. Hopefully.

"Junkyu, since it's your first day, you should ask her if the green tea is good. She really likes green tea,"He pointed at her.

"Oh, what about customers at the cash register?"I asked.

"I'll handle it. This is what we do for every new employee since it's their first customer."

I nodded and walked towards the girl. She was on her laptop and also drinking the green tea. I was a bit nervous because I didn't know how well I did the tea, but hopefully, she thought it was good.

"Excuse me,"I tapped on her shoulder.

"Hmm?"She took her earbuds out.

"This is my first day working here.  I want to know if you like the green tea I made,"I showed her a big smile.

"Yes.  It's really good.  Good job!"She put a thumbs up.  "Good luck by the way."

"Thank you!"I smiled and walked back to the cash register.

"What did she say?"Jihoon asked.

"She said it was good."

"You already got your first compliment.  Good job,"He patted my back.

I guess I did do a good job.

I continued to my work and Jihoon helped me through the whole day. I noticed that the girl stayed at the café for a while. Usually, longer than the customers I've seen come in today.

I guess she has a lot of school work.  High school must be hard on her.

The Next Day

Sooyun's POV
For some reason, I didn't feel as tired as I always did.  I actually had some sleep yesterday night.

"So, how was your daily trip of getting matcha green tea yesterday?"Minjoo asked me.

"It was actually okay.  There was a new barista there.  He seemed nice and excited to be there,"I said.

"Is he cute?"

"Yeah, he's pretty cute."

"You should go today and talk to him."

"That's gonna slow down his work."

"You're boring," She rolled her eyes.

"Whatever you say,"I laughed.

I do want some green tea again, though.

I decided to go to the café after I finish will all my classes.  I kept thinking about the new barista for some reason.  He was the first barista to ask me if my green tea was good.

Time went fast and all my classes were over.  Minjoo didn't want to go to the café because she had a project to do at home, so I went alone again.

I walked in the café and I saw the same barista at the counter. He was wearing the same beret that he was wearing yesterday.

Junkyu's POV
"Hi, what would you like today?"I looked up and saw the same girl that came in yesterday.

She's here again?
