"Xavier come on" I sigh and groan as I drag him to the pharmacists.
He keeps looking back at the mothers with prams. There's this one little boy in a pram that he keeps making faces to. At one point the mother was recording it as her little son laughed and giggled at Xavier.
I have to admit, seeing him so sweet and beautiful, the way his eyes light up and the contagious smile that makes it's way onto his lips when he hears the laughter leave the little boys mouth.
Turning to me with a smile as the mother and her son turn into a different section of the mall, Xavier kisses my hand which is entwined with his as we walk inside the pharmacy. Half of me hopes I'm pregnant due to the way he's been acting around children but half of me also thinks this is happening very fast paced. I mean we haven't even been together a full month and I might be pregnant.
Walking through the isles, Xavier buys two twenty pack condoms and I grab the pregnancy tests. Once at the counter, Xavier pays for all of this and also buys a packet of cigarettes from the shop next door. I know, he's bad for smoking but he's already told me that he'll quit straight away if I am pregnant and he will remain off them even after the baby is born.
I mean, that's a big thing since he'll have withdrawals and everything like that due to it being an addiction. Having said that he has it pretty under control since he only ever smokes about once every two weeks or so.
We hop back into Xavier's car. It's warm in his car as the seats cushion my body. Xavier takes hold of my hand when he isn't changing the gears. His beautiful body relaxed and almost carefree like. Not once in the time
I've known him have I seen him as relaxed and content as he has been these passed three weeks. Once we get home, Xavier pulls me into our bedroom and into the connecting bathroom. He stands there, reading the instructions on the packaging. Once he has, he looks at me surprised.
"Do you really have to pee on the stick?" I laugh and nod my head.
"I'm guessing you've never had a pregnancy scare with any of your former partners" I say with a smile.
"You're the only one I was willing to stick make love to without protection" He admits with a soft smile.
Walking to him I capture his lips with mine for a few beautiful seconds. I lead him out the bathroom to wait as I take the three tests and pee on them. Once they are in the sink, I let him back in.
He sits on the toilet seat load and pulls me into him, slightly swaying his lags as I sit on him. We only have to wait two minutes for this one. Counting down the seconds with only the dripping tap cutting through the silence.
I spring up as my alarm goes off. Am I really ready to see the results? I mean he'll be let down if I'm not but if I am, and we end up breaking up I'll be a single mother. I mean, I love him and I don't think we'll ever break up. I know I'll never break up with him but that doesn't mean he won't break up with me.
"You ready?" He asks as he wraps his arms around me from behind.
"I'm not sure, I mean will you be upset if I'm not pregnant?" I ask as I turn in his arms and look up into his soft brown eyes. He kisses my forehead.
"Of course I will, but not at you. I know and you know that I have my hopes up. It's my own fault for getting them up if you're not pregnant" He caresses my cheek softly.
I lean forward and rest my head on his chest. He rubs my back softly as I lean on him and hide my head in his chest. His heartbeat soothing me slightly. I feel his lips press softly on my head.
"If you don't want to look, you don't have to. I'll look instead?" He offers.
I pull my head off his chest, looking to his eyes. I watch as he looks down at me with a soft, caring expression. I don't know what I did to get a man so amazing to love me.
