(Corrine's POV)

I sat quietly at the perfectly carved wooden desk. my mind held a thousand thoughts but none of them were about what the teacher was saying. in fact, i didn't even know what she was talking about. Her monotone voice was rather hard to pay attention to and the steady sound of mechanics running was very distracting. Beside me, Wesley sat, his head on the desk, probaly asleep. Of course, Brynn was listening intently to mrs.Greeves, her glass rimmed eyes following her every word and movement. I dazed off, barely thinking of anything. Trying to get the time to go by faster. "Corinne" i heard my name once. At least i think I did. It could have just been my imagination. " Corinne." i heard again. Okay so i'm pretty sure it's real, but i'm not very motivated to answer. "Corinne, am i !going to have to send you to the principal's office?" i felt firm hands shake my shoulders. I opened my eyes

to see Wes recoil his arms and the rest of the class staring at me. "Glad youre awake, Corinne. Now would you mind answering the question" the teacher looked at me, venom in her every word, her eyes locking onto mine, evily, waiting for me to humiliate myself. I opened my mouth to retalitate with one of my very clever sarcastic comments, but the Alarm for our codes rang. once for weather, twice for a stranger on campus, three for an alien invasion, four for a fire, and five for an emergency. the five rings have only been used on drills and i waited ever so hopefully for the sound of the principal's voice to tell us this was just a test he forgot to tell us about, but instead...instead he said this. " code red. this is an emergency. Do not panic and please continue your class, but i would like to have Corrine Baxter and Wesley Baker at the office." I froze. A whole class of eyes focused on Wes and I. "Wes, Cora. I think you two should get going" the teacher practically sputtered trying to keep her composure. I mustered up a smile and walked out the door. Trying to ignore the dozens of eyes boring into me. The deadly silence of the room threatened me to crack at any moment
