Aurora's POV
"The body was found naked and beaten, tied up with what seems to be her own clothes. Another murder has been added to the case, only 24 hours prior to the murder of Rosalie Eten, police fear they may be dealing with a serial killer. The murderer has not yet been identified."
I turned the TV off, unable to take anymore information in from the murders. I sat on my couch, chewing on my lower lip as I took in the words of the news reporter.
Police feared they may be dealing with a serial killer? Isaac? A serial killer? I mean I couldn't put it past him, one after the other with no remnants of any emotion whatsoever.
I debated whether or not to turn him into the police, but I already knew he would be found sooner rather than later. I also didn't want to risk losing my life by splattering his name everywhere, knowing full well if I did so he may just do the same. But with my blood.
I laid back, rubbing my temples as I tried to release the stress that was starting to make my body become tighter by the second.
I had to eventually leave Billie's house to come home, and believe me I didn't want to. Brandon's funeral was being arranged, and I unfortunately had to discuss the situation with Billie.
She said that she didn't want to go to the funeral, that she would just stay home in her bed and convince herself it never happened. I tried to make her see another side of it, but her stubbornness proved...well, stubborn.
The last thing I remember of yesterday was my fingers in her hair and my whispers in her ear.
*flashback*
"Billie, I know we've already spoke about this, but I do think you need to go to the funeral. It might be closure. For you, I mean. To know that yes he's gone, but he's in a good place."
I stared down at her, her eyes squeezed shut as my fingers massaged her soft scalp. Her hair was knotty and a little bit greasy, but I didn't care.
She stayed silent, taking a breath in and holding it. I stroked my fingers across her face, causing her to let out the breath.
"I don't need closure. Nor want closure." She said quietly, making it seem as though that was the end of the conversation. I ran my finger down her nose, her eyes fluttering slightly. A gesture that could make her fall asleep in merely seconds.
"I know, Billie, but I think Brandon's family would like you to go," I watched as she opened her eyes, looking straight up at my face as she gave me a blank stare.
"I don't want to go, Rori." She said, flatly, and that told me that I should stop pushing the subject. So I did. I just kept running my fingers through her hair, admiring how she would sometimes close her eyes, only to have them snap open again at a tiny sound.
She rolled over in my lap, her shoulder digging into my thigh slightly as I winced. She hugged her arms around my waist, nuzzling her head into my stomach.
"Why did he have to go?" I knew her head between my hip and stomach was a tactic to hide the tears that were about to fall. I placed my hand on her back and started tracing circles as I attempted to answer her question, knowing full well I wouldn't be able to.
