A childhood friend or foe?
She didn't talk for years but she was there
She appeared in 8th grade she followed
She followed to the hospital
She sat in the waiting room quiet
She was silently stalking you
She first spoke the night grandma left
She wasn't kind growing into your soul
She didn't speak all the time
When she did it brought headaches
Her tears were on your face
You couldn't feel the pain she was causing
You smiled like there was nothing wrong
No one knew your friend you thought
Only you could see her dark eyes
You took her from others that met her
You hide her from the family
Her name is depression
And she will never leave you
