"hey Josh you going to ask y/n out already or what?" Ryland asked me and I sighed closing my locker
"soon"
"how soon is soon dude? We haven't got all day, you know the plan"
"ok, ok, get off my case already would ya? i'll do it tomorrow in gym"
here's the thing about y/n
we've never been friends
I don't think we've so much as glanced in each other's direction since band in the 5th grade. I would've been her friend. If it weren't for that annoying wheezing Kaspbrak.
Besides, we're from two different worlds. She's a loser and I'm a jock.
i'd tell her I like her already, for real. I like her, I really do, not in the fake way, but i'm going to have to put up with faking it, until the bet with Cobie and Ryland is over
so i'll just suffer in silence

"she totally likes you it's so lame" Cobie says with a chuckle, he bounces his basketball and throws it at some kids face laughing more

"what's up guys?" I hear Bev pipe up and I look over to see her walking next to Ryland holding hands with him
it's not like she even likes him, she's dating Greta, she's just an overly affectionate, friendly person
"we're talking about y/n" Cobie answers
"y/n you say?" I hear Greta say in a muffled voice, I look over to see her smack Cobie upside the head as she holds her bloody nose with one hand
"watch what dipshit you're actually trying to hit, I just got a face full of rubber because of your dumbassery" she huffs continuously punching him in the arm and he flinches
"alright, alright, my bad i'm sorry"
"walk me to the nurses office before I turn you into soup"
"Josh go mess with y/n, we gotta tag the losers lockers" Ryland says unzipping his bag, taking out a can of spray paint & shaking it

I walk up and bump into Kaspbrak knocking him down & he passes the fuck out
"oof that's gotta hurt" I laugh and four eyes Tozier tries to come at me but his little girlfriend stan the jew holds him back
"let me at him! let me at him!" Richie shouts, he briefly breaks out of Stan's grip and his fist nearly comes in contact with my face and I lean back
"woah woah watch the money maker four eyes"
"I SWEAR TO GOD ONE OF THESE DAYS YOURE GONNA GET IT RUSH!" Richie shouts adjusting his glasses and they all help wheezy up. well all of them except for y/n, she just stares at me starry eyed.
"Stay cool gorgeous" I tell her with a flirtatious wink. her breath hitched and I laugh to myself as I walk away
