Chapter 1

Aniah Lee

Ugh, Today was my last day of 10th grade.
Junior year here I come. I've dreaded this day since the 1st day of 10th grade.

I knew once summer came I would have to be stuck in this little so call house. I'm going to be ripping and running the streets all summer long tryna make money to survive.

Summer is so different now.I barely have friends to go out with except for my best friend Kayja.

Usually at the end of the school year me and my parents would go on a vacation , celebrating all these achievements ; I accomplished throughout the year .That all changed 2 years ago .

Me and my parents ( Erica & Andrew) were in a terrible head on collision . Which resulted in my parents died, I didn't die but I had sum pretty bad injuries.My life changed ever since then.

"Goodnight Niah baby" is what Kayja said when I dropped her off at her front door, probably the last time I would see her this summer.

I was at least 6 blocks away from house and It was at least 9:30. As I begin to walk when out of nowhere this blue mustang came around the corner. I started to walk fast because who knew what trouble that could bring, hey it's Baton Rouge.

The car speeded up and this man or boy I'm not sure hollered out the window "Aye girl (I turned around) yea you right there , need a ride?". So of course me being this sorta type of hood girl I was like " Aye mane just leave me alone, I'm just tryna get home".

He said " Just let me take you home". I said "No."Then this boy in the backseat hollered " Mane tell luh slatt get in da car".

The 1st boy said " You heard the man", so because I knew because they weren't going to give up I solemnly agreed.

I opened the door and guess who I seen staring at me as I was getting in the car—NBA YOUNGBOY , and me being the fan girl I am "I was like no way your N-" , he finished " yuh yuh B-A-Youngboy,call me Kentrell, yuh name slatt?". I replied "Aniah "

"Aniah where yuh peoples at?, cause I know they taught ya bout stranger danger , cuh yuh was real fussy bout getting in the car", is what he said."

She shole was" said the person in the front seat , I looked up and seen— before I could say something, he said " yea lil guh it's Ben 10"

I vented " ma peoples dead Ian got nobody" shrugging my shoulders. They both said " Damn sorry". I was like it's alright , can y'all just take me home please. Ben said "address", I gave it to him.
15 minutes later...

We pulled up to my house, by there faces I can tell they were like ,what is a young girl like this in a house like this.

When I got out the car, Kentrell rolled down the window and said " Slat how old are yuh" , "16" I said. I started to walked then suddenly Kentrell said " Ani—ah, I think yuh should come and stay with me."

Me standing in disbelief was like "whatttt" and he was like " yuh get yuh stuff, I can't have yuh out hea living like this". I knew I really needed a break from this place so I agreed.

So I walked into my house, gathered all my belongings, and grabbed my bag with my name sewed in it ( the last present my mom gave me) and headed out of the door.

As Aniah got in the car, I thought what did I just do. How can I help take care of this kid; I'm just a kid myself.

But Then I looked up and saw Aniah. Her smile, that smile ( your smile play a big part in why I want you ( sum of y'all know what I'm talm bout 😂) okay back to the story). Her pretty brown caramel skin, her eyes glistening with the reflection of the moon in them, and her long pretty hair .

I don't wanna fall for this girl. I just wanna take her in, besides she not een my age, definitely not going down as a perv.

45 minutes later...

I unlocked the door to my house with Aniah following behind me like a lost puppy. " Girl come from behind me so I can introduce you." Joe & 3three looked up . Aniah said " Well damn that was partially rude." Joe & 3three said " OH HELL NAWL Kentrell please tell us uan-."

I said " Nie this is Aniah and I'm taking her in." They all said " oh we was finna say boii we was finna kick yo asssss". I laughed then signaled Aniah to follow me.

"Ight so girl this my room,but you gon stay in it",I said . "B-But where you gon stay", Aniah said. " Eeh Imma sleep downstairs" I said." Nah Ion wanna keep ya from ya room" "It's ight",I said. "Ok then", " Mind If I take a nap", Aniah said.

3 hours later .....

Aniah's Pov

"KENTRELL WHO THE FUCK IS THIS BITCH IN YO BED" an unknown but familiar voice that woke me up said.  "Man YaYa chill out that's nobody" I heard Kentrell say. " This bitch gotta go" (YaYa) said. " Ian no bitch", I sleepily said. " What you say hoe" ( YaYa) said.....
