Taylor stared down at her arm. The timer written in bold letters ticked on, a pinch with every second that passed. She was meant to meet her soulmate this week, and boy was she excited.
That was sarcastic, if you couldn't tell.
She's the last of her friends to meet their soulmate. Kate and Lily were the first. They locked eyes, then suddenly, their worlds turned bright. Then, it was Kailee and Raven. And now, it'll be her.
She'll meet her soulmate. Girl or boy. They have to love her.

She shook her head, of course they'll love her they're meant to be. That's how it works, that's always been how it works. Taylor stood from her spot on the stool. She had just finished eating breakfast, scrambled eggs and peanut butter, and now, she had to go to work. Before she could return to her room, her phone went off.
