Chapter 7

I walked in my room and locked my door behind me and sat in the floor next to my bed. I grabbed a pillow and cried into it. It felt like I would never stop crying but I started crying less after 10 minutes. I got up and went into my bathroom and looked into the mirror. I looked like such a mess; my makeup was ruined, my hair was a mess, my eyes were red and puffy from crying. I opened the small cabinet under the sink and took out a razor blade.I brought it up to my arm above my wrist. I always knew ending it all would be the easy way out of all my problems, so instead I just cut to distract me from my other problems. I brought the blade down on my arm and started cutting. The pain made me start crying but not more than I just was. It stung really bad as my tears fell down my face and onto the fresh cuts. I set the blade down on the sink and washed off the blood on my arm. I wrapped a bandaging thing around it so I wouldn't bleed on my stuff. I went back into my room and sat on the edge of my bed. I looked up to see the picture of me and Steven together from the last day of 8th grade. I got up and grabbed the picture, went back on the floor, and hugged the picture while I continued to cry. My phone started ringing and going off with messages but I didn't bother checking any I just stayed on the floor crying. I heard a knock on my door and tried my best to talk without sounding like I'm crying
"Who is i- it?" I ask wiping my tears
"It's me" I knew it was Jack's voice. "I brought Daniel Corbyn Jonah and Zach with me. We wanted to check up on you."
"I'm fine" I respond not wanting to open the door because I looked terrible.
"Can we come in?" He asks
"Yeah give me a second" I say and get up and put the picture back to where it was and walk into the bathroom. I wiped off the smeared makeup and only fixed my mascara and put my hair up in a messy bun. I looked down at my arm that had the bandaging covered in blood I didn't have time to change it so I put Jack's hoodie back on to hide it. I went to the door and unlocked it and opened it. Right away I get hugged from Jack. I push him back because I didn't wanna start crying again.
"Can we come in?" He asks. I nod and step to the side to let them all walk into my room. Zach was last as he walked in he looked over at me, he looked sad but I didn't say anything. Why would I? I still hate him and that's not changing. I closed the door after he walked in. I sat on my bed next to Jack, Daniel sat on the chair at my desk, Zach Corbyn and Jonah sat on the floor. I crossed my legs and played with the sleeve of the hoodie not wanting to talk.
"Sooooo anyone gonna talk" Jonah says breaking the award silence.
"Do we have to?" I ask still looking down.
"Yes because we all want to make sure your doing ok y/n" Jack responds, I look up and into his eyes then back down.
"I'm fine don't worry about me" I say trying to hide how I actually felt which was broken, like nothing meant anything anymore. Jack looked over at the guys then back at me.
"Hey well you know what?" Jack says
"What"
"We're ditching school tomorrow" He says and I look up at him confused
"What?"
"I mean we were planning on leaving early anyways so why not just ditch and go somewhere fun to get your mind off everything" He says with a smile
"Yeah you need to have some fun" Daniel adds.
"Yeah cmon it'll be fun" Corbyn also adds.
"Guys I don't know...I need to be there for Ashley-"
"Ashley has other friends she can be with to help her through this, sometimes you just need to put yourself first" Jonah says
"Yeah and as much as that sounds selfish it's not you just need to cope with your issues on your own sometimes, and that's alright" Daniel adds. I took a moment to think about it
"Fine"
"Aye that's my girl" Jack says and side hugs me. "I- I mean not like my girl like my girl friend but like my girl space friend" Jack adds slightly panicking.
"I know what you meant you idiot" I say and playfully punch his arm.
"Ouch that hurt" He says in a high pitched voice mocking Daniel.
"Hey that's my line" Daniel says sounding offended.
"You never claimed it as yours bro" Corbyn says whole laughing.
"Yeah but I'm the one who started saying it" He says.
"Don't worry Dani it's your like and no ones trying to steal it" I say to him in a baby voice.
"Yeah Jack don't steal it from me" Dani says and sticks his tongue out at Jack, Jack does the same back to Dani.
"You guys are so immature sometimes" I say while laughing.
"Yeah we know" Dani and Jack say at the same times.
"Okay well anyways I'm gonna change so I can give you your hoodie back Jack" I say.
I get up to walk into my closet grabbing a black hoodie and going in the bathroom connected to my room.
"You know you can keep it it's fine" He says as I walk in.
"Yeah but it's yours so I'm giving it back"
"Alright well I'm coming in we need to talk" Jack says and gets up to walk into the bathroom. I take off his hoodie and look down at my arm and remember what I did. Fuck no he can't see this he doesn't need to worry about me. I quickly panic and grab the bandaging from the cabinet under the sink. I take off the bloody bandaging on my arm and clean the blood on my arm off. It still really stings. Jack knocks on the door
"Coming in"
"Wait Jack don't-" Before I could finish he opened the door but not all the way. I had my hand over my arm hoping he wouldn't notice but he did. His eyes went down and looked at my arm with the fresh cuts. He looked back up at my eyes then turned to the boys.
"I'm gonna talk to her for a bit guys so don't worry" He says and closes the bathroom door and walks in.
"y/n?" He says and reaches for my arm.
"No i'm fine really don't worry about me. I just need to change the bandaging and I'll be fine" I say hoping he wouldn't lecture me about why I shouldn't be cutting.
"No y/n it's not fine"
