Chapter Five

Emily POV
Maddie must have thought I was asleep. The truth is, I never was. I watched the whole time when the man brought in Lily, Lilah's younger sister. I watching Maddie out of the corner of my eye, and she looked miserable. I think she recognized Lily too. Lily and Lilah are both very pretty. They both have long wavy dark hair, except Lily has blond highlights. They both also have the prettiest icy blue eyes.
    I don't know why this man kidnapped us or what he wanted to do with us, but one thing was for sure: he can not kill my friends. If he kills me, then ok. But he can not kill any of these other girls.
    The man placed the screaming Lily on the bed with Jordan. Her screaming woke everyone up. When we were all awake, Lilah started screaming again. I can totally understand. If I had a little sister who was kidnapped with me, I'd be screaming for her too. We all started crying again, right as the man came in and closed the door behind him.

Autumn POV
    When that door closed, I got instantly even more terrified than I was before. The only thing I could hear was the sound of Amber's shaky breaths. "Welcome home, my girls," the man said. "My name is Nathan, but you can call me Nate. I know you beautiful girls must be scared, but I had to do this," he continued. "Ok, Nate, then why did you kidnap us exactly?" Asked Sadie. Wow! Girl's got nerve talking to him. "It's not time yet for you to know," he replied. I couldn't help but stare at him, for he was a very odd person. He seemed middle aged, maybe around forty or fifty years old. He had graying brown hair, and he still wore the tuxedo.
    "I know that it is still very early in the morning, but before I head out to work, there are a couple ground rules that have to be set. And there are very bad consequences if you break the rules. So don't break the rules, and we can be a happy family," Nate said, giving us a creepy grin. He then gave each of us a list of rules on a sheet of paper. It stated:

RULE 1- WAKE UP EVERYDAY AT 7:16 AM
RULE 2- TAKE SHOWER NUMBER 1 AND PUT ON YOUR MAKEUP AND YOUR OUTFIT OF THE DAY
RULE 3- MAKE AND EAT BREAKFAST WITH THE FAMILY AT 8:16 AM
RULE 4- NEVER LEAVE THE HOUSE
RULE 5- ONLY USE THE BATHROOM THREE TIMES A DAY
RULE 6- DO NOT GET SICK
RULE 7- PLAY WITH YOUR TOYS AT 9:16 AM
RULE 8- WATCH A MOVIE AT 10:16 AM
RULE 9-MAKE AND EAT LUNCH AT 12:16 PM
RULE 10- START PREPARING DINNER
RULE 11- KNIT, READ, OR PLAY TOYS AT 2:16 PM
RULE 12- EAT DINNER WITH THE FAMILY AT 6:16 PM
RULE 13- GO TO BED AT 10:16 PM
RULE 14- DO NOT TRY TO HURT NATE
RULE 15- DO NOT BREAK ANY RULES
IF ANY RULES ARE BROKEN, THE FIRST TIME PUNISHMENT IS NO FOOD FOR THREE DAYS. THE SECOND TIME PUNISHMENT IS STAY IN BED FOR FIVE DAYS. THE THIRD TIME PUNISHMENT IS POISEN. THE FOURTH TIME PUNISHMENT IS PAIN. THE FIFTH TIME PUNISHMENT IS DEATH. IF THERE IS DEATH, THEN
NATE WILL HAVE TO FIND A NEW FAMILY. NATE DOES NOT WANT A NEW FAMILY. DO NOT BREAK RULES. IF NATE GETS ANNOYED AT FAMILY, FAMILY DIES. DO NOT ANNOY NATE.

Terrified, I stared down at the rules. "What if we wake up earlier or later?" I asked in a shaky voice. Nate answered, in a weird, overly sweet voice, "Don't worry, my beautiful Autumn, you won't." "H-how do you know my name?" I asked.  He answered, "I know all of your names, but it is not yet time to know why."
