WRITING IN DIFFERENT GENRE THE TAMMII WAY

DISCLAIMER: I am not a pro, didn’t get a degree connected to writing pero sabi nila, experience is the best teacher and I have writing experience haha lol at young age, nagsusulat na ako ng tula, short stories etc. but yeah huwag kayong mag-expect. This is just the Tammii way hehehehehehe

THE TAMMII WAY

Mystery/Thriller

I started writing this so let’s start here. My first book is DF, which is a detective fiction also mystery/thriller and other subgenre like action, adventure etc. So how to write under this genre the Tammii way? (I want you to have your own way, anyway this is just a guide so I’m just like telling you how I do it, not saying you should do it MY way)

✒️Title

Hindi ako nagsisimula rito, this is so hard for me when I started writing. I remembered writing DF under the title CRIMES AND CLUES, that time, I didn’t know people can actually read your story on watty hanggang sa one day may nagsabi sa akin na ‘oy ganda kwento mo kaso panget title hindi catchy’ at ako namang uto-uto, pinalitan... dunno nakalimutan ko na ano ang pinalit ko hahaha tapos si ateng(or kuya? Kung sino ka man miss na kita charot hahaha di ko na maalala sino yun) nagcomment na naman sabi, hindi pa rin catchy so I was like p*&^%^%$%$#$# hahaha de, jk so I decided okay, it’s Detective Files and whatever, hindi ko na pinansin si ateng (or kuya?!!!) at sulat lang nang sulat

But later on, I realized title is very important kasi iyon ang unang makikita ng mga readers eh so you have to be creative. You can have your own title, freewill mo ‘yan pero huwag namang sanang isang kilometro ang haba ng title...

My Super Duper Ultra Mega Handsome Gangster Crush Turns Boyfriend

The Coldhearted Princess of Whatsoever Meets the Warmblooded Prince of Wheresoever

Wala akong grudge sa may mga title na ganyan okay kaso super haba niya and for me it’s a no no no no way (oy kinanta hahahahaha).

Shorten it and whatever description you want to add na madaling mabasa, you can put that on the book blurb/story description.

✒️Story Description

Actually, hindi rin ako magaling dito hahahaha like dude, SM’s description is vampire, Hello Mister Wolf’s descrip. is werewolf... kasi weakness ko ‘to. This part is what you read when you click a story in watty, kumbaga teaser or synopsis so for this part, you have to be creative too. Ako kasi as a reader, ito ang basehan ko kaysa sa title kasi tbh, some stories have corny titles but gem pala ang plot.

So where can you read some teaser for this plot? Sa story description.

Pwede ‘tong summary ng naisipan mong plot, or a scene in your story that will surely catch attention, hindi ‘yung eksenang boring. Choose which part you think will surely make readers flip your book to start reading them. Yung part na... shocks, ano kaya mangyayari rito? Do not give away all the secret in your books at once!
