I often find myself thinking of the females in the camps. How they all seem to remind me of her in some way.  It's been a long while since any of

us have heard a thing on the topic of her, anyways. No more news on the taverns and pubs. Every night, I fly by her apartment, and I can't seem to

pick up her scent. It worries me.

A month later

"Why are you here?" Asked Rhys, who can't seem to stop following me. "I'm worried." I reply, looking at her apartment. Not a peep. We can't

seem to find her scent anywhere. "Well, if anything bad had happened, Elain would have seen it. She would have warned us." He said, seemingly

trying to convince himself, too. "Rhys, her scent is gone. It's been gone. Do you think she left....?" I ask, getting dizzy just at the thought. She wouldn't

have just left u~.... Elain.  "No, if she had left, the owners of the apartment would have rented it out already." He said, rolling his shoulders and flexing

his wings.  "Okay." I reply, shaking my head. Without another word, I stretched out my wings and shot off into the air. I have more important things to

worry about. She made it clear that she didn't like any of us, let alone me.

Without a thought, without any real guidance, my wings carried me to the ashes of the town. Where I usually go when I truly need to think. I

normally would come here to think of anything but her, but I feel like this might be needed. She hasn't shown her face, and she sure as hell is

avoiding all of us. The bond was there, before the cauldron broke. The mating bond. One second, I could feel it, was happy for it, and the next, I felt

nothing. It was like having a lung ripped away. At this point, I don't think even Elain could save her. She needs to heal. Get her scent back. I didn't

even know it was possible to lose your scent. I know how to help her.
